Who was the habs best enforcer of all time

News is slow around here lately so I was wondering what the rest of the board thought about who was the best HABS enforcer of all time? My pick is John Ferguson I also loved Chris Nilan.

The Rocket. Won his fights, scored a FEW goals.

Ferguson, Nilan, Bouchard (if only he could erase than Jonathan fight).

Scariest, maybe Kordic.

HM to Lyle, obviously.

Most useless: Laraque, Normand Baron.

Tom Kostopoulos - never lost a fight with the habs

HM Aaron Downey - probably longest fight without a flying fist.

Great list. Order isn't important, Fergusion, Nilan and Bouchard are up there. Didn't last too long but pound for pound....I like what Mario Roberge did.

Kordic was the definition of a beast.

I miss those days.

Kordic wasn't sane. He was SCARY. Sad story though.

I would have to say that overall, Nilan has to win it though.

Most beautiful? Gino Odjick.

I'm a Lyle fan, of course. I know he wasn't one of the best enforcers in the league even in his prime, but what I remember from his is that I've never seen him lose a fight clearly while he was with the Habs. Of course, I didn't have RDS at the time and only watched a handful of games a year on TV.

Does anyone remember him getting the **** beat out of him while he was a Hab (and have a link for it on Hockeyfights.com) so that I can come back to earth?

Knuckles was not the best enforcer but he was so tough.
Also he could score.

John Kordic was pretty good.

Laraque was the best but not during his time with the Habs.

Ferguson one tough hombre! Nilan has to come 2nd loved his scraps too. Teddy Harris as Fergie's #2 not that anyone wanted to play after Ferguson was mad. Kordic but he was soft as butter compared with Ferguson, John was a very good PWF in every term. Knuckles was pretty close lb for lb, except Fergy just didn't have anyone even close.

Best tag-team ever was Terry Harper and Claude Larose, one would hold a player the other pound him! I couldn't believe my eyes and get away with it a few times.

Ferguson also scored 20+ goals. No Brainer.

HM to the Pocket Rocket. Maybe the toughest player to ever wear the jersey. Don't think he ever really lost a fight and KOed some giants.

Lyle can definitely be in the running for one of the best all time Habs enforcers. Huge fan of his and got to talk to him a couple years back . He told me the man he respected most in the Habs organization was Serge Savard.

For me, John Ferguson is tops, then Nilan, but Lyle was my personal favourite.

I used to love watching John Ferguson getting it on with Eddy Shack during Habs/Leafs games in the 60's. Great fun to watch. Nilan was a very good fighter also. I say it's a tie between them. Kordic was insane, no hockey skill whatsoever, Odelein was also pretty good. Ever see Big Bird clean Dave Schultz's clock? That was a beauty. BGL was once good but with the Habs, he was just meh.

As far as the traditional role of enforcer it has to be Ferguson and Nilan as they both did it for a long time and they did it well. Ferguson was probably the more feared of the two.

Kordic was the best fighter of all of our enforcers. He absolutely devastated players and was borderline scary to watch.
