Hard to hate the guy ! He once was a great 3rd liner, fringe second liner, but injuries have made him slow and less physical.

We sure could have used his character here in Montreal.

Sucks we let him go I bet we could have kept him for next to nothing. He was a great team guy and great fill in for injury times.

Must be a surreal feeling to grow up a Habs fan and actually don the CH. Hope he does well in Sweden.

It sucks that he wasn't good enough to continue playing in the NHL. If he were as good as a few years back Montreal would love this guy.

He prob got an offer but prob two-way or something without security so he took his bags and walked away.

And I bet he's getting some decent money in Sweden, but with everything included (cars, schooling for his kids, rent, etc). Someone can correct me if I'm wrong?

Maybe he will fit better in a league that requires very little physical play.

Good guy with no room for him in this NHL. Don't know him personnally, but do look like a nice guy and it's great that he seems to embrace this new challenge.

The problem with him was that he looked terrified on the ice, was always bracing for impact a moment too soon. With his below-average skillset and style of play, it really diminished his worth.

I don't understand the hate, he was nothing special but he was a solid minutes eater and was probably better than Moen for much of last season.

It made no sense to bring him back, because we have enough grinders under contract as is and injuries have depleted him of his ability to play physical and bang in garbage goals, but he was effective at riding out mismatches and actually created a fair bit of breakaways, even if he couldn't do anything with them.

Like I said, he won't be particularly missed outside the locker room and on twitter, but he actually served a purpose on the 4th line, unlike scrubs like Nokelainen or Weber playing out of position.

Anyway, I think this is a good move for him, hopefully it works out.

This is the main reason he didn't have a place with the Habs going forward, but to be fair, his knees would probably disintegrate if he was hit hard, so he kinda had a point.

wait is he going to play on an international rink? skating from his zone to the bench took him over 30 seconds on NHL rinks, I can't imagine what it'll be over there

Said it multiple times he'd struggle to find work in the NHL and I was right.

He brings nothing to the team that 100s of others can't.

The only thing he ever brought on the ice was get me pumped when he tied the game against Buffalo.
