Winnipeg - Boston

To Winnipeg
D Dennis Seidenberg
F Brad Marchand

To Boston
D Toby Enstrom
F Chris Thorburn

Does Boston do this? Winnipeg could definitely use another legit top 9 forward and the d could use a left handed defensive minded guy. Boston looks like they could use a bit more offense from the back end. Taking contracts into consideration is the Value there?

Boston gets screwed, Thorburn is not enough to fill the gap although I could see him being a good fit with the Bruins.

It's also worth noting, since OP brought up the handedness, that Seidenberg plays better on the right side. I swear, people way over emphasize the importance of handedness.

As a B's fan, this is tough. Pocket Lidstrom is a great longer term addition to the D-core, but losing Marchand with only Thorburn coming back isn't something I could deal with.

Wish Burmi was a winger and stayed in the chel. Would be a perfect swap.

This is only my opinion, but I don't think the Bruins do it. I think they like both Seidenberg and Marchand and think they fit as pieces of the puzzle for a run at the Cup this year.

Enstrom would be a very good addition but the players they already have fit so well that it would be a huge risk whether the new guys fit in as well.

This is more about what gives them the best chance at a Cup next year than anything else.

You switched it from an awful trade for Boston to an awful trade for Winnipeg.

Pretty bad counter proposal IMO. Adding Kane makes the trade stupid from a Jets point of view.

Enstrom for Marchand make for a pretty good start in a trade discussion.

I can see why Boston fans wouldn't do it, but we'd be trading Toby for an aging (while still decent) defenseman and someone who'd be a 3rd line winger in our depth chart. Seidenberg is an expiring UFA, so his value to Boston would be much higher vs. us due to our chances of re-signing him.

our leading scorer last season would only be a 3rd liner in the Jets? Wow the Jets must be seriously stacked all of a sudden!!

Are you insinuating tht a 2nd line winger on a perennial Cup contender wouldn't crack the top 6 of a team that has made the playoffs once in the last decade?

Can't say I agree

What about Subban and Spooner for Trouba and Burmistrov?

Well, yeah. Marchand is a LW, and so are Ladd and Kane. I don't think Winnipeg would slot him in ahead of either of them, so unless Marchand can play on his off wing, he'd be on our 3rd.

I doubt either team does it. Enstrom is worth more to WPG than Marchand, but Sieds+Marchand is worth much more to Boston than Enstrom would be.

Not nearly enough coming back to Boston. I also don't see where either teams needs come in? Winnipeg is set at LW and Boston has plenty of offensive pop on defense now with Krug, Hamilton and now Morrow in the system.

Id love to see Marchand on a team that doesn't have Chara and Lucic to hide behind.

Both teams say no. Wpg doesn't need a lw or Seidenberg. Boston loves Marchand.

I think Boston loves Seidenberg as much as Marchand. I also think that every team in the league can use Seidenberg. How is I that the Jets are any different. Seidenberg is like Mark Stuart only 10 times better.
