Kunitz... Elite puck hunter and an under rated passer. Also pretty mean for a little guy.

With time, I think Palmieri will do just fine.

Brad Marchand would be a perfect fit. Would be even more of a nightmare line to play against. I think Marchand in a fully offensive role playing with those two would light it up. And Duck fans would love him.

Glencross would be a great fit IMO.

Wanted him on Anaheim for a long time to be on that top line LW spot, has a great contract as well.

wouldn't be surprised if silf scored 25-30 goals with getz and perry next season. who knows in the future? i miss silf, but i'm glad we have ryan.

ryan is an acceptable replacement for silf i guess

Silfverberg, wicked wrister on his off wing defensively responsible high hockey IQ. He was better as a left winger in Ottawa then right.

From a financial / cap point of view as well, it has to be a complimentary player on a smaller contract.

If Penner doesn't find some chemistry with them, I think we have a couple very intriguing options for that in Palmieri and Silfverberg already.
YUP, both those kids can skate, have good hands and solid hockey sense. I think Palmieri's a bit more physical so I might see him getting the edge while Silvferberg takes the wing along side Koivu.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I don't think we would have signed Penner if we didn't intend to try him with his old pals Getzlaf and Perry, so that's what I assume will be the first thing that gets tried. It's quite possible that neither of them ends up with Koivu, as Koivu centering Cogliano and Winnik was pretty good for us last season. (But that kind of thing can obviously disappear as quickly as it emerged.) There's a chance they could both slot in on opposing wings centered by Bonino/Holland on a line if Penner locks the spot with Getzlaf/Perry up. It's going to be interesting.

Nathan Gerbe would have been a great fit with little risk.

only thing he lacks is size and that would be one of the few lines in hockey where it shouldn't be an issue.

I also think Danny Briere could have been a good fit. Or for that matter any aging playmaker who would benefit from the extra space created by the two big boys. Vinny Prospal is still a UFA I believe and could be had for cheap.

viper responded to Viper who replied back to viper. Weird.

To reiterate a point already made: the best complement would probably be someone who is very puck hungry and hard on the forecheck. If they can find the soft areas to exploit for Getzlaf and/or Perry to find them, all the better.
