Wsh-Wpg

To Wpg:

Neuvirth
Chimera

To Wsh:

Stuart
Thorburn
Montoya
Telegin

I'd like to see the Jets get a goalie that can push Pavelec. Caps get a lot of grit, a good prospect and some cap space.

I like this deal, I don't know that Caps fans will though.

awe are you a winnipeg fan? I like this deal...but most of the players going to WSH could be replaced by AHL/Free agent signings...

I'm not gonna say Neuvirth and Chimera have a ton of value because they don't but Winnipeg is giving zero value in return.

I didn't even know Stuart and Thorburn were still in the NHL.

If you ask me, this is Washington trading a couple of warm bodies for a couple of dead ones.

McPhee isn't interested in trading neuvirth. all this starts and ends there.

I like this deal.

I love what Telegin brings to the table and he's one of Dmitry Orlov's best friends.
Montoya is an ok back-up. We have Grubi and need to give him a few games, too.
Stuart is cheap and can fill #2LD hole.
Thorburn can be a good replacement for Hendricks.

Done.

I would do this, but I don't think Washington does it

As a Jets fan: I'd definitely do it. Washington fans? I'm willing to bet: not so much.

I'd feel bad for you guys if Stuart was your #2LD

I like the leadership and attitude he brings to the team... but he's just not there anymore.

Telegin is a very nice prospect.

He's not there anymore, our current 2LD John Erskine has never been there and never will be.

no reason to feel bad. this is fantasy hockey here. the real team won't be making this trade for any number of reasons.

Which is why your incessant droning on about who you believe McPhee won't possibly trade (see Clark, Chris) contributes absolutely nothing to these threads.

Is it unlikely that GMGM trades Neuvy or just about anyone else on the team? Absolutely. Does stating your opinion like fact in pretty much every Caps-related thread in this section defeat its entire purpose? Even more so.

In a fantasy hockey world it doesn't really matter if McPhee isn't interested in trading Neuvy. It's not like all deals agreed to here automatically take place in the NHL. It's a fun way of seeing how Caps players are viewed by both Caps fans and other fanbases around the league. Your insistence that nearly every Caps player is a non-starter after just a couple posts adds nothing and tends to stop these threads before they even have a chance to get started.

I Love this deal for the Jets. If I was a Caps fan I don't think I could say the same. Quantity for quality deal at best.

lets get it right. I said that clark's contract was impossible to trade and was wrong.

its always interesting in these threads threads whether we are talking about trades that could happen or whether its trades we would do if we could make them.

a dose of reality is usually a good thing. I guess you don't agree...eh?

edit: wondering G, what do you say when you read the latest in the long line of proposals wanting the caps to trade karl alzner? the caps are not going to trade karl and any caps fan knows that. why not say that then?

whoever said he was ever there at some point was being a little optimistic as well.

If caps fans like this deal, sure, go for it. But it's a bad deal for you guys. thorbs and stuart are both easily replacable by any number of players on sub 1 million contracts from free agency/ahl call ups, telegin is a giant question mark right now, and Montoya is...well he is what he is.

I don't know how you can separate Chris Clark the player from Chris Clark's contract when talking about a trade. His trade value is representative of the combination of the two. McPhee was able to unload the package despite much proclaiming that it couldn't, or wouldn't, be done.

As for Alzner vs. just about anyone else on the team, the Caps' depth at his position almost ensures that he won't be traded. They won't be able to move him in any realistic deal that improves the team. Neuvirth on the other hand could be considered much more expendable due to the fact that the team has Holtby, and a backup could be found for less than Neuvy's salary.

I know McPhee says #30 won't be traded and that Laich will be the 2C, but if we took everything that GMs say as gospel, then this forum would be a ghost town.

Why would the caps take our junk + Telegin for anything?

I love stu and thorbs but they are not very good hockey players
