Looked great to me! Sucks that Harvey got stuck with those 3 ER's cause he was pretty dominant today and didn't see Wheeler start yet about to watch it on DVR but the numbers look pretty positive.

Best day for the Mets in a long time.

They just announced the rosters for the Futures game at Citi Field and the Mets will have Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero and the Yankees will have Rafael De Paula.

With this news I just bought tickets to the game because I'm very excited to see these two pitchers for the Mets throw.

If anyone else is interested prices are dropping for all ASG events. The All Star game itself is still pretty pricey with standing room around $220+ and around $375 for a seat depending on which second hand site you look at. Home run derby is around $150+ and the Futures game which I just go tickets for starts around $6, yes $6, it also includes the celebrity and former player softball game afterwards.

Pirates fans booing David Wright relentlessly because he didn't pick Pedro Alvarez to participate in the HR derby (even though he will be replacing C. Gonzalez anyway).

Pittsburgh sports fans are easily the biggest cry babies in America.

Royals did the same thing to Cano last year. I guess it comes with the territory. And they certainly don't boo chumps.

Going to the Mets game on Saturday and I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few things.

1) How early should we come to the game? (we already have tickets)

2) Is there anything at Citi Field is a considered a must see?

3) How are the prices on beer?

4) Is there a train that gets directly to the Stadium?

Cheers everyone.

1. They probably won't be having batting practice with it being a day game after a night game I usually get there a little early like 20-30 mins before game time. Security and ticket lines are really not an issue unless its close to a sell out which it won't be. It really depends if you want to check out some the park before hand or during the game.

2. Just walk around the park and enjoy. The concourse is open so you can watch the game from just about every angle. On the wall over from the train station you can check out the old Shea Stadium home run apple, there's also some cool plaques on the ground in the walkway that goes around the outside the stadium. There's the Jackie Robinson rotunda and inside that you can access the Mets Hall of Fame (ground level to the right after you enter the rotunda). The Shea bridge is pretty cool also and the food at the stadium is excellent (expensive also).

3. Expensive. I forget exactly but its like $9.25-9.75.

4. Depends where you are coming from. If you're coming from Long Island take the lirr to Jamaica and transfer to a citi field/willets point train. If your coming from the city I'm unfamiliar but I know you have to take the 7 train. Personally I hate taking the train have bad issues with it in the past so I just drive its so much more convenient, easier and cheaper.

And Shake Shack. Totally worth it to get there early and get some Shake Shack. The food in general at Citi field is pretty amazing for a ballpark.

As if expectations weren't low enough for the 2014 Mets, now apparently we might be without Harvey the entire season. Still too early to tell, but since I'm a Mets fan I'll just go ahead and assume the worst... kill me.

WHAT THE HELL DID I DO? HUH? The Mets & the freaking Islanders. I'm a good person. I help other people. I treat my family right. Why must you torment me so much sports gods?

Harvey will be back in 2015 with diminished velocity. With the Mets stinking luck he'll be Mark Prior 2.0. Ugh.

i'm old. i have considered turning in my various fan cards and turning to bocce in southern italy or somewhere on the dalmatian coastline.
i hate the luck of the mets. it is an all or nothing, all-consuming thing of evil with the occasional thunderclap of goodness and accompanying rainbow in the dark.
if JT gets injured before we win a cup, I will leave sports.

I'd probably do the same. Although luckily Tavares would never do that to us... would he?

Next year it's going to be Happy Wheeler Day. Just hopefully without the Tommy John added into the mix.

Some guys actually throw HARDER when they come back from this surgery. And most reach their pre surgery velocity.

Not right away but eventually. And with Harvey, I don't think that will be much of a problem. There isn't a harder working pitcher.

Many pitchers come back from TJS looking better than before. It's come a long way in the past decade, to say nothing of numerous decades. As long as he's handled properly I see no reason why Harvey can't be at 100% effectiveness on opening day, 2015.

I'm going to the Mets game in DC tomorrow. My brother that works for Boeing was given the opportunity to use the Boeing Box. Haven't followed the Mets all season knowing that I couldn't face the disappointment while being unemployed.

Sucks Harvey and Wright are out.

Since both teams missed the post-season, I am going to un-sticky this.
