He hasn't played in so long, he must be fully healed by now one would hope. I hope he can avoid injuries next year too, would be nice to see how he does while playing 20 or so games

I can see a team offer him a two way deal or maybe a minimum one-way if they're desperate enough. I don't think he'll be signed before the season gets underway though and someone's goalie goes down

In NHL 13 I have him as a free agent and NYI signed him which I LOLed at. (I know it's against the rules in real life) but yea he signed for 1.5M and he ends up winning the vezina that season and shares the Jennings with Nabokov. Next season after that he doesn't win vezina but him and poulin repeated on the jennings

I would take him over Monster, problem is I cannot see Detroit figuring out how to do it. Him working his way up in the AHL doesn't scan with Mrazek down there starting the lions share of games either. No cap concerns and I could see them giving him a chance as a #2.

This stopped being true in like 2009. If there is any anecdotal evidence to support the fact that half of the posts on HF are people talking out of their collective behinds then this would be as good as any. He just posted a below .900 save percentage in the AHL, people. The last time he put together anything close to resembling an NHL season was 2010-2011, in which he was statistically the worst or at least one of the top-three worst goaltenders in the NHL. He's not salvageable. He'll be lucky to be a starter at the AHL level at this point.

Really hope RDP can get back to playing, but he's broken and I don't think he's fixable at this point.

Nice to see the guy generating interest, still you have to wonder if his body can take the rigors of being a NHL goalie.

I hope somebody signs him to a two-way deal. Let him play in the AHL for a few months.

He was poor in the AHL last year, but that was after basically not playing regularly for several years.

Rick has worked his ass off to try and play hockey. He could have retired due to the injury and lived off of the massive contract. Instead he tried to earn his money.

I hope someone who needs an AHL goalie signs him and I hope he earns his way back up to the NHL.

yeah my beer league team called him up a couple days ago to try and get him on our team for next season. We are really desperate for a backup goalie.

Wasn't he brutal in the AHL last year? How does he get any sort of NHL deal at all? Maybe a team gives him AHL deal, but even that is pushing it.

I remember during the lockout he played overseas and something about him dressing for practice but then not for the game. the team denied injury but there was really no other reason for him not to dress. dude really needs to give it up. cant stay healthy. his one shot at comeback he blew it by breaking his face on johnson's fist

I wouldn't mind giving him a shot either, a DiPietro/Mrazek tandem would be interesting, though like you said it wouldn't really be good for Mrazek to share too many games with him. I think it would help having Osgood there to help him out too.

He should get a shot as the 3rd goalie of a team on a two-way contract.

But you gotta admit, his personality would fit great there.

My guess is he's going to have to take a training camp invite for a chance at a contract, like how Emery did two years ago in Chicago.

I don't think he's good enough to be a starter in the AHL.
