By next season you mean this season coming up right? Yeah I thought he and Thrower were our two '93s out of the '12 class.

I'm fine with him staying in Sweden for awhile. Mind you in '14-15 there's going to be quite the logjam in Hamilton/Laval.

Not sure if he's still one of your prospects, but here's some photos of Dustin Walsh from last season with Dartmouth:

He didn't look bad in that particular game (although, his entire line was burned pretty badly by Johnny Gaudreau).

Age has no importance for euro player in the AHL. They can come in at 18 if they want to.

I think he meant it more like asking whether it would be a smart thing to do.

Weird, statistically his season in the Allsvenskan was pretty good for a junior player. You'd think he'd have no issues getting a contract if he really wanted one.

I don't want to see any more 19 year old euro prospects playing in the AHL full time.

his numbers were pretty comparable to Collberg. I'm thinking/hoping its more about them just wanting him to stay in Sweden more than management second guessing him.

Nystrom would technically be in the 20 y/o bracket I believe but I think I'd rather him in Sweden myself.

I forgot he was a late b-day, turns 20 a couple weeks into the season so it's no problem then. Should be interesting to see how he adjusts, he's one of the few Hab prospects I know little about so can't wait to see him in regular action.

Nystrom's ability defensively has been good and last year he started getting more icetime offensively and proved he was capable of putting up some points.

Collberg on the other hand sparkles offensively and until he proves himself defensively, his icetime won't increase much that's the norm as far back as I can remember.

Sort of like Louis Leblanc's case, nobody was worried about him producing offensively, at least I didn't see a problem, but defensively he could use some improvement.

Likewise in Naatinen's case in Europe he was great defensively and had nothing to prove. Then the Finns had him centering the top line at the WJHC's and he produced, surprise he did the same in Hamilton.

Teams want their prospects to become complete players before they graduate to the Bigs. The fast way to learn is play the position that they have troubles with until they get it right.

I hope Naatinen can stay healthy. He's an intriguing prospect. I dont know how much room he has to improve but there's definitely something there. I don't know if he has the physicality to displace anyone from the bottom 6 but he definitely has the defensive awareness to be effective there.

I just don't know if he has exactly what we're looking for to displace anyone on our roster at the moment. Really hope he gets a shot.

Looks like Lekhonen had a pretty good game.

Nicolas Collette ‏@habsprospects 2 min

Artturi Lehkonen with 3 goals and 1 assist in a 6-5 OT win vs USA Team Blue at the U.S. Junior Evaluation Camp. No points for Brady Vail.

Nicolas Collette ‏@habsprospects
Collberg & de la Rose with both an assist in 4-2 win vs USA Team White at US Jr Evaluation Camp. No points for McCarron.

Collberg, Galchenyuk, Lehkonen.. finally some players with the type of shots that scare goalies. Been far too long.

I would add Bozon in that list. He doesn't have the velocity just yet, but he sure as hell knows how to score goals.

Looking at those names and abilities, brings to mind old NYI's Mike Bossy (Collberg), Bryan Trottier (Alex Galchenyuk), and then there was Clark Gillies (Mike McCarron). Now how wonderful would a Habs line like that be for the next decade or more. Perhaps Lehkonen could be the Habs equivalent of Butch Goring the last piece of the puzzle for the NYI's Championship Team in the 80's. I'm really on a roll today, the Habs can do no wrong at least in my eyes.

i know he had at least 2 last year could've been three.

If i'm not mistaken, isn't it a good sign that he came back from them quickly?

Lehkonen is destroying while at 160 pounds. Just wait until he is 185. He will be a force! Hahaha.
