Brent was far from "awesome" on our 4th line. He was brought in to be a faceoff and PK specialist, and ended up being a minor contributor in both of those areas. He's not physical, doesn't score, not really a great shadower. Everyone seems to like him as a person, but he was getting overshadowed by guys who are barely even NHL players.

I admire those highlight clips as much as the next guy, but those are 3 shifts out of a nearly invisible career.

Have you guys noticed that The Hockey News website tends to delete players that go to the KHL? I wanted to look these guys up, but they weren't there. Neither was Wolski, Kovalchuk, Radulov, etc. They keep retirees. They must not be fans of the KHL.

Foster would fit right in with the No-Defense they play over there.

Brent's Staal blocks was play of the year on LeafsTV.

The Canes are right, for what he brings, he doesn't have a role.
Good luck over there, Tim.

My friend is Foster's cousin, really a shame that injuries wrecked his career, he could've been a serviceable top 4 d-man on most teams

Foster's issues are more than just mobility. He has some serious deficiencies in decision making.

They're there, just kind of hidden by the system. But we have ways of making them talk.

Kurtis Foster
Tim Brent

He was a great 4th liner the whole year in Toronto (sometimes 3rd), too bad he had a down time in Carolina because if he still played like he did when he was with the Leafs he would have easily got a 700k 1 way.

Timmy Brent was absolutely fantastic on the PK in Toronto. Shame no one wants him.

Have you ever watched KHL? Some teams, including almost all successful ones, are all defense. It's boring.

You don't get to watch the KHL, do you?

Most top teams are so much about defense it makes a Rangers-Caps 2011 playoff game look exciting.

EDIT: Poster above said something similar.

A stupid comment which tells me you haven't watched a single KHL game in your life.

Thought both guys would get on with a NHL club as depth players. Oh well, best of luck to them in the KHL.
