I will wait til 4 PM tomorrow to call him an idiot. There's still a small part of me that doesn't believe that Ruben is that mental.

Also, Bradley apparently had a minor elbow injury and that's why he was pulled. Don't think any trades are happening in Boston anytime soon.

Amaro just got left hanging on the dance floor.

I don't see another team out there that would be realistically an option if the Sox are out, maybe the Dodgers but there hasn't been anything on that front at all lately.

Hopefully just a bluff on Boston's part to rattle Rube. He better do ****ing something.

eta: Nevermind it's done.

Rube is running low on duct tape.

you dont just trade Lee for the sake of trading him. That is what he did last time when he was sent to Seattle.

I agree but I do think he could have gotten a good package based around Bradley for Lee. My only fear is now Amaro heads into the offseason with the plan of more patch work on the way (meaning possibly more bad contracts) under the assumption that this team is still fixable as is.

Apparently it's turned into a three team trade.

Red Sox, Tigers, White Sox.

This team sucks. They have to rebuild at some point and dealing Lee is a good way to start. If the deal didn't happen because Amaro insisted on Bogaerts then he failed.

Exec’s speculation: Peavy to BOS, Iglesias to DET (to cover for Peralta suspension) and A. Garcia to CWS. Just speculation at this time.

Michael Young to Boston makes even more sense after Jose Iglesias was traded. Still thinking it happens.

Boston went for the deal where they'd only give up one ok prospect. They weren't into dealing big it looks like so can't really get all upset about that. I don't want them to give up Lee for nothing again.

I know this team sucks, but who knows what was offered. But I would rather them hold on to Lee than him forcing a trade like he did last time when he traded him and get nothing.

I can't blame Amaro or Boston really.

They wanted to go cheaper and they got a mediocre pitcher. Would they want Lee? Sure, but they don't want to lose Bogaearts or JBJ, so they set their sights lower and it cost them less, but lets not pretend Peavy is equal to Lee, they aren't even close and Boston knows it. Its a risk they are taking.

WEDNESDAY: The two sides are discussing a three-year deal or two-year deal (plus a vesting option) for around $13MM per season, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The Phillies consider Utley to be their franchise player and have every intention of keeping him around.

I've accepted that most the team will be back next year, except for maybe RF/3rd/C

Basically not enough over turn to make them a playoff team. They'll miss again next year.

I know it obviously won't happen, but what if by some ridiculous chance the Red Sox traded Bogaerts for Young? I want it to happen just to see everyone everywhere's mind explode. Imagine the comedy.

Tex doesn't want Young, Boston doesn't want Young.

Young needs to accept that nobody wants him.
