I'm pretty sure we're gonna see the 4-4-2 again. With Bernardello and Piscu things will be better defensively.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned it but on SRC during the 6 o'clock news they said that DiVaio might leave the Impact. The family situation that made him go to italy last week seems pretty serious to the point where he would want to go back full time.

They even interviewed Camara who confessed that he discussed it with Marco.

That would really suck.

I'm trying to cover all the bases, and this is what we have to work with in a 4-2-3-1 ish setup

Decent but would rather Bernier/Arnaud, Smith/Nyassi, Felipe/Romero/Paponi (4-4-2 with Paponi)

Personnally I don't like line-ups where Paponi is on the bench. Guy's been awesome this season. Also, what the heck is going on with Pisanu? He hasn't played in months.

I have never seen Pisanu in person but he looks completely out of shape on the screen. Doesn't really do much either to be honest.

If Di Vaio goes, I wouldn't mind Paponi and Wenger up front. Paponi has been very dynamic while Wenger has been a foot away from a goal so many times.

Smith won't be starting, Paponi will. He's a better player technically than Smith. Smith at this point in his career will continue to substitute from the bench.

I do not see Arnaud in the IMFC plans for next year. The speed of the game has progressed whereas Arnaud has gone the opposite way. Technically, with all the International players in this team with a high degree of skill and vision, Arnaud and Warner could very well be on the way out.

Good question, seems to be in the dog house of late but this has been his M.O. in Italy. Good start to the season but than becomes disinterested. Patrick Leduc of RDS hit the nail on the head when he compared Pisanu to Alexandre Daigle. All the talent in the world but his motivation is another story in itself.

Raul Fernandez [Dallas GK] seems to be passing lots of time with Di Vaio and Bernier this weekend .

Paponi's performances have been overrated in this thread. He was amazing until the Colorado game. He was then average in his last 3 games (chivas, NY, Dallas). Paponi should never be used alone in one striker formation because he can't create enough chances by himself and can't seem to be able to put himself in positions where he can open spaces for himself to create scoring chances. Which is something Wenger is very good at but has no finish.

So far I agree, he rarely creates himself a scoring chance.. he is really at his best when he needs to feed someone like di vaio then gives him a little additional opening wich gives him some shooting lanes... but he is young and maybe he will need some more time to adjust to mls as well as his future role. If di vaio leaves I hope we go for a younger dp.. 33 max (if we still look for an international name)

Its all good. He seems to be a good lad too.. he just played the game vs mtl.. its part of the game to slowdown the game and try to change the vibe of the game (when he was mocking the crowd (by taking all the time in the world to pickup the stuff thrown down) by the end of the game).

I love Fernandez, Phenomenal GK. And fair play to him, after the game he was clapping at the Ultras. Good Sport.

Thats exactly what Ive been saying

‘‘ I’m also not sure that Paponi can create, I always thought he was more of a target-men ala Inzaghi just like Di Vaio than a Forward (Messi, Totti) but I certainly could be wrong while Wenger is more of Secondary Striker because of his good vision and poor finishing’’
