As a French person from Quebec, if we were to split up I'd move away. I love Canada and would never support a split. Even if it means we get to hog all the goaltenders away from the Canadian team. :bananarama:
if quebec gets a team, an olympic team that is...that's actually good...for my country. heheh. it weakens the other red army...
I'm confident in saying even without the French contingent, Canada would still be considered a top team, if not THE team to beat at any international tournament. I'm not sure how many NHLers, French Canadian NHLers would eve support this, I remember quite a few saying they were proud Canadians, and would still play for team Canada. I'm tired of hearing about these anti Canadian francophones who don't know the first thing about Patriotism. Paranoid people, who think the English community is still trying to destroy their French culture.
Ignoring the fact that certain players would not play for a Team Quebec, and the fact that it is about 95% certain that this won't ever happen (unless Quebec separates some day), a mock roster might look like this:
Simon Gagne - Daniel Briere - Steve Bernier
Alex Tanguay - Vincent Lecavalier - Martin St. Louis
Jason Pominville - Patrice Bergeron - J.P. Dumont
Pierre-Marc Bouchard - Ian Laperierre - Antoine Vermette
