The only reason I see for trading Hemsky is that the Oilers won't be able to afford him after this season, he'll still get around 4 million a season, he's not old, I believe he's 29. He's been my favourite Oiler since Doug Weight was traded, until Hall got here. I still remember him absolutely taking over the series clinching game against Detroit in '06. If it wasn't for injuries, I think he would of been a perennial all star. It is sad how many Oiler fans just bash him, with the exception of Pronger for one season, he was the best/ most talented Oiler for about 7 or 8 years. I still believe he has some hockey in him. If Jones or Smyth can find their games again and Gordon can be solid on the dot and in puck retrieval, that line might end up producing at a rate that not many 3rd lines do. One thing I know for sure is, I'll be cheering for Hemmer wherever he ends up, unless it's Calgary... or Vancouver... or Toronto.

We wish. No knock on Ebs, but AP is exactly what this team needs, I still can't believe no one has offer sheeted him. To me, an offer sheet on AP makes more sense than one on Weber, due to age. Solid signing by the Blues, JaBo is a solid number 2 on almost any team in the league, any a number 1 on a few, like the Oil.

Offer Sheet Pietrangelo... now! Oilers don't need anymore draft picks. They need Pietrangelo.

Any kind of offersheet for Piets would have to be north of $8 million.

someone earlier mentioned perron on the 3rd line... I actually kind of like him there

Hall Nuge Eberle
Hemsky Gagner Yakupov
Perron Gordon Smyth (just because his D is >> Jones's), decent shutdown line
Joensuu Lander Jones

Yak or Hemsky on the left is pretty much a nonstarter IMO.

pretty fail. you don't stick Perron on the third line with a potential black hole and a grandpa. total waste of his skill set. also, grandpa needs to GTFO. beyond atrocious last year.

this team is built pretty bad even with the "Sexy" players (4 of them) at forward. theyll be fun to watch. the rest will just have to avoid leaking goals.

We must have the most talented top 6 in the league. If our bottom 6 can somehow stay even or perhaps just close to even in the amount of ice they get, we should be fine. I'd love to trade Ebs+ for Pietrangelo or somehow offersheet him.

We have a good relationship with St.Louis so I wouldn't want to offer sheets Pietriangelo. I'd see if they'd accept a Kessel like trade instead of giving them a roster player. Something like one of Klefbom or Nurse, 2014 1st and a choice between a 2015 second or Hemsky. Very high chance of getting rejected but worth a shot.

Not possible to offer sheet him anyways, the team doesn't have its 2nd round pick next year. The team that owns it? The Blues.

He makes alot of sense, he's the right age, can play center or the wing, and has some size. I wonder what he would take to get? Couldn't be much

Love how people state things like this as if they are facts...My understanding is that the highest level compensation is 4 1st rounders. You don't need a 2nd rounder.

Pietrangelo has told his agent to inform the rest of the managers that they are not going to be fielding any offer sheets; that's why there is no news on that from.

If STL was to trade us Pietrangelo, they'd probably want...

Eberle
Petry
Klefbom
1st

So yeah, not happening

Any offer-sheet of Piet would probably be the next 4 1st rounders, so we wouldn't need to have a 2nd

BTW, you know it's August when I'm seeing people putting Ryan Smyth on line 3. Give me a break.
