I'm glad he is going somewhere, I met his dad when working at the Verizon Center at a Caps game like 2 years ago (Roe is from Virginia).

We've been in these situations before. Flyers rattle sabre. They might stay, who knows, but we've certainly seen it go the other direction.

Corey Pronman posted his top 10 Flyers prospects. They are quite against the grain in many areas. I'm sure a lot of us will not agree with them at all.

http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1566

Manning over Ghost and Morin seems quite insane. Manning did not have a good year in the AHL at all. He played fine in his 6 games with the big club, however. His upside is also pretty limited, so I just don't see how he can justify this.

In his personal pre-draft rankings, I think he had Morin in the 50's. So, I'm sure that has something to do with it.

He sees Manning as a potential top 4 defender, I disagree with that. I see Manning as a bottom pairing/depth defensemen at best in the NHL.

While I think he has every reason to be high on Manning (I put him over Lauridsen in our pool), I don't see any reason for him to be our #4 prospect or anywhere close to being above Morin.

I would put him over Lauridsen as well but that's not saying much.

My 25 & under team looks like this...

Tye McGinn (23) – Claude Giroux (25) – Jakub Voracek (23)
Brayden Schenn (21) – Sean Couturier (20) – Wayne Simmonds (24)
Nick Cousins (20) – Scott Laughton (19) – Jason Akeson (23)
Zac Rinaldo (23) – Tyrell Goulbourne (19) – Marcel Noebels (21)
Petr Straka (21)

Erik Gustafsson (24) – Luke Schenn (23)
Robert Hagg (18) – Sam Morin (18)
Shayne Gostisbehere (20) – Brandon Manning (23)
Oliver Lauridsen (24)

Steve Mason (25)
Anthony Stolarz (19)

I think that's pretty solid, but I don't see anyway for Manning to be a top 4 defenseman here down the road unless Morin busts completely.

That said, he could fit in very nicely as a long-term #6 next to Gostisbehere should he continue to progress.

I think he offers big physicality, a little offense, and a more well-rounded game than Lauridsen.

I'm not sure what he has seen to make him so high on Manning. He's played OK in his stints with the Flyers but #4? Above Morin and Ghost? I don't agree at all.

Manning shouldn't even be in the top ten let alone #4. That's just nonsense.

I like that line-up. Obviously guys need to develop like we hope but seeing that is pretty cool. Though I would personally swap Schenn and McGinn, then swap Akeson and McGinn. In other words, Schenn first line winger, Akeson 2nd line winger and McGinn 3rd.

I see this as a much better team than last year. deeper anyway though lacking in top end talent. id be excited to see them really make a playoff push I think a winning tradition is very important in a farm team

Well any of those defensemen could bust to honest. The jury is way out on Morin, Hagg, & Gostisbehere.

Manning's approaching the "**** or get off the pot" phase pretty soon. If Bourdon stays healthy & rebounds, I don't see Manning or Lauridsen having much of a future here.

Pronman also had Morin at #60 in the 2013 rankings. So take that into consideration.

WJC camp scrimmages are going on in Lake Placid today. Sweden beat the US 4-2. Hagg was in the lineup.

2nd Game vs Finland starts at 4. Stolarz is starting in goal.

A few tweets from Corey Pronman

Quote:
@coreypronman: Both average. RT @LindstrmMartin: @coreypronman How was Possler and Hägg?
Quote:
@coreypronman: In 2nd period like Cammarata (NYI), McCoshen (FLA), Santini (NJD). Flashes from Hagg (PHI).

This lineup so pleased me, I linked this post on my twitter account.

The Flyers are like the anti-Phillies; so much young talent.

I'm not sure if it all gels and makes our wishes come true. But looking at the lineup you posted, the possibility is sure there for some monumental success.

Stolarz gives up 2 goals
Quote:
@chrismpeters:Stolarz had a nice series of about three stops after giving up a poor rebound. Not too bad overall, though. Thatcher Demko stepping in net.

According to the USA Hockey website he only gave up 1 goal on 16 shots in 30 minutes of time played.

http://worldjuniors.usahockey.com/ga..._sheet/5419377

Sewell, NJ native Anthony DeAngelo scored a goal in the same game.

Edit: Looking at the score sheet by the times it seems to match up. Stolarz would have went out at the 10:29 mark in the 2nd & the second goal was scored at 10:59 mark (international goes from 0 minutes up to 20 minutes opposed to the NHL who does the opposite).

Sounds like Finland's top line was nearly uncontainable though. Not throwing out excuses for Stolie, but I'll take 2 GAA against that team.

From yesterday:
Quote:
@coreypronman:Talked to a goalie coach after the games. Gave a thumbs up to Dansk and Saros for their play today. Thumbs down for Stolarz.
And today
Quote:
@coreypronman:Fine. Playing a more defensive role. RT @Mrpm10: How is Hägg playing?
Quote:
@chrismpeters: USA Standouts from period two: Butcher, Carrick, Erne, Hinostroza. Good flashes from Matteau, Stolarz. #NJEC

Looks like Stolarz gave up 1 goal after coming in for Demko.

Anthony Stolarz — G — I thought Stolarz was better today, but he also only saw eight shots all game. That’s not going to give a lot of great evaluation time. I think he’ll get some more time as the camp wears on, but he did well enough while he was out there and seeing limited work. Though I will say I think his puck-handling needs some work. Got caught in a bad spot once in the game due to his handling.
