Morris, Mattingly and Murphy aren't HOF worthy.

and there doesn't have to be a spike in #'s to throw up a red flag, hell Cervelli is on the biogenesis list and the guy is barely a MLB player. Absolutely anyone can be on PEDs

The Yankees are 6-9 since the All Star Break. Kuroda has 2 of those wins and he pitched a great game in LA last week which the Yankees won. No decision. Half of their wins have come with Kuroda on the mound.

The Yankees are 9.5 games behind Boston. They are 8.5 games behind TB for the first wildcard. 4.5 games behind Cleveland for the 2nd wildcard. Cleveland took advantage of Baltimore and Texas slumping. The Yankees lost ground. Kansas City is 1 % point ahead of the Yankees.

He's superseding the CBA.

AKA making **** up on the spot.

The suspension isn't for a failed test therefore those levels of suspensions do not apply.

I don't know if they've specifically said "best interest in bb" but since the union appears to agreeing to the methods being used then it doesn't really matter.

If Arod would still get his $ he wouldn't be fighting the suspension.

I think this is gonna drag out for years. Arod will ultimately be suspended & then he & the Yanks will be in court over the contract.

Hes not using the JDA, only the CBA. Im pretty sure he can't give a bigger penalty unless he does it under the JDA?

Journeyed over to this board to say how excited I am for tonight's game. I guess that lifetime ban for doing the same thing that 12 other players just got suspended 50 games for isn't working out too well for Uncle Bud.

2 for 4, Home Run, 1B, 2 RBI,

Here’s the official announcement from the league…Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced today that third baseman Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees has been suspended without pay for the remainder of the 2013 Championship Season and Postseason and the entire 2014 Championship Season for violations of the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program and the Basic Agreement.

I wish teams could cancel contracts based on steroid use setting false pretenses.

I also wish 1 PED use = lifetime ban

The teams were complicit in the rise of steroids in baseball. Management, ownership, the Commissioner's Office, the MLBPA, all of them. Allowing for the cancellation of contracts is giving a free pass to teams when they don't deserve it.

Michael Weiner says*A-Rod's appeal verdict will not come until November or December. That means he will play for the rest of the season.

I think it's pretty ridiculous how the appeal process works. If you're suspended, you should be suspended. Now with Arod's appeal in limbo, he'll be playing his heart out until November (says the poster above me)? That's absolutely ridiculous.

Can't wait to hear the response he gets, on the road but particularly at home. What happens when he homers?

What if you suspend a guy and make him sit pending appeal, and he then has his suspension overturned? You can make him whole financially, but he loses those games played and the team likely suffers in his absence. Who does that benefit?

I don't know how it could be better, there are smarter minds available for that. I'd like to say you could appeal, not play, and still get paid - but that's bull**** for the team. I just think a suspension should be a suspension

On the other hand, I really don't know much about baseball, so it's probably better for me to stay out of a discussion like this

Well, the mechanism that allows for a suspension is the CBA or a relevant MOU, which also contains the appeals process. So a suspension IS a suspension, and the appeal is necessarily part of that suspension.

Do you think teams still turn a blind eye like previously?
