One line was funny in the article,

But Dempsey's perspective had changed by July 18. He was up for coming back to MLS, but the only teams he was interested in playing for were Seattle, Los Angeles and Toronto.

Toronto Seriously?!

Exactly, the league is changing so fast that the actual CBA is kinda obsolete. So they a create new rules like the new rule to keep an important player on the team while paying him outside off the cap space.

When the previous CBA was signed in 2010( only weeks away from a disastrous lockout) the league was a very different place. Seattle just came in, the KC "wizards" still sucked. and attendance increases were slow and steady.

Then, with the arrival on Philly, Montreal, Portland and Vancouver, New signings and increased media presence, the situation has really changed.

There is much more money and much more ambition than the CBA is able to deal with. No way a deal like Dempsey would have been thought possible.

That's why they've kludged together all these procedures.

They can't just tear up the CBA, its valid till fall 2014.

But when that day comes, I expect a complete revamp.

With so many different voices with very different resources and priorities (including Yankees/Manchester) Whatever they propose to the players will be very different than what we are working with.

Lol, is anybody going to call Joey in his BS? 110m by 70m is the same as most fields in the league, and a few are even wider!

Houston is the one exception.

It's also nice to know that they still use the same moments as us to boast about the team.

And its funny how they are trying their best to speak Spanish, its really not working.

Can't say I'm surprised. He's been pretty bad, minus 2-3 games where he was finally playing at an OK level but we benched him immediatly after those games. At this point, we're better off playing our young locals (Ouimette, Tissot or Lefevre), they can't be any worse.

Hell yes!!! About time they get rid of that garbage defender. I really couldn't stand him, he was a non-factor both offensively and defensively.

I can't even believe we had to do a lot of PR to convince him to sign with us.

100k$ of cap space freed + intl spot.

Bring on some legit LB please!!

Dont think it'll happen this year. Unless the league decided to go frenzy and inject cash to acquire some top players.

Tissot and Ouimette are also full backs. Ouimette have been good at RB in the reserve and at practice. Maybe these two guys progressed enough in management's eyes...

So we added 2 defensive players only to realize that now we are struggling to score goals...
