Season Predictions: Rene Bourque

How do you think He'll do next year? I assume MT will have him on Plekanec's wing, but keep in mind how great he looked with Eller near the end of the season and the fact that he was one of our best players in the playoffs.

I personally really like Bourque as a solid secondary scorer. He's incredibly athletic, physical, talented, and while motivation is always a factor, he seems to be enjoying his time here in Montreal. His contract value is great as well.

I have a hard time guessing on what his totals will be, but I'll take a stab in the dark and say He'll score about 18-22G and have about 40-45points.

I'd like to see him on something of a 3rd line with Desharnais and Prust. Not sure how it would work roster-tweak wise, but it's something of an experiment I'd really like to see.

So, in that situation, and considering the scarcity of PP time that this situation would bring, then something in the wake of 20-15/20 would be great.

I voted in the range of 30-40 points. If he produces more I'll be happily surprised. It will all come down on how realible he cna be when healthy and if he stays healthy.

Agreed with all of the above, except I voted for the 40-50 range. Somewhere around 44-46 pts would be good season.

Health is a concern for him but you can't really fault him for that Orr sucker punch. Hopefully he can stay healthy enough to chip in 30-40 like you said.

0-20. I can't see him go a season without injury.

I don't fault players for health issues. It's something that is out of their control. I would only fault a player if it can be proven that they claim to be injured only to have free time to go skiing

I think Bourque has the upside to produce 50+ points, I prefer to downplay his production as to not be disapointed. ANd I much prefer being happily surprised

That would mean that Bourque is injured for 55+ games. He would have to sustain major injuries to prevent him from playing more hten 30 games.

He's certainly capable of around 50, but I voted 30-40. Really enjoyed watching him in the playoffs. Keep it up Bourque!

35-40 points would be fine, I like Bourque, Therrien seem to be the type of coach that keeps Bouruqe on his toes.

But with how bad our pk was last year, we should use him on the pk more, 5 on 5 he does float around in the dzone a little to often, but during his time with the flames he was one of their better guys on the pk.

He has 21 points in his 65 games with the Habs...

I think he gets 15-20 points in 50-60 games

over 2 seperate seasons? Without factoring injuries? Sounds like you are purposefully trying to paint him a wors player then he is.

Plays with Galchenyuk. Keep his stick on the ice. 40 goals.

I did write: "I can't see him go a season without injury."

I actually factor injuries a lot. He missed 25+% of the season in 4/7 last seasons. He's highly injury prone and his play suffers offensively due to it + the role he plays on the team. Add to this his natural inconsistent nature and play the last 2 years I don't think it's unfair to suggest he'd bring =<20 points with games missed from injuries.

If he plays 70+ games, I see him getting between 17 and 23 goals and 40 something points.

Voted 50+, if healthy of course. Maybe I'm over-optimistic, but I think he's ready to explode.

50+ goals not points

Kidding aside, I expect 25-30 goals from Bourque.

It can't be him! The so called experts said he never goes there! It has to be Benoit Pouliot, I see 57 as the number!

So in other words you garantee that Rene Bourque will have either a major concussion or a blown up knee that will take him out of the line up for 50 games at least.

Should be able to get 20 if he plays a full season.

Healthy, I can not see him getting less than 40 points.
In his first season with us, he did have some problems.
In hindsight, I think he was in shock of that trade leaving a team near his hometown.

But last season, he started very well till he was injured and played well in the PO. Despite the injury he was at .5 ppg.

I do expect him to rebound and come back like he did last season.
Would be easier to answer if the poll was in ppg.
So my answer is .5-.6 pgg.

Voted 30-40 because I'm not sure if 1 the post-concussion state is still going to be a handicap and 2 whether he's going to manage playing a full 82 games season.
