I don't even care about BB10, to be honest. I just want Netflix so I can watch my Playbook in bed and just knock it over when I'm ready to pass out, lol. With BB10, I could have sideloaded it.

God damn it.

Yeah I posted that in the PlayBook Thread. Unfortunately the PlayBook doesn't have enough RAM to run BlackBerry 10 smoothly.

The good news for us PlayBook owners is that there will still be updates to the current BlackBerry PlayBook OS.

Unless that update allows me run Netflix sideloaded, then they should have never made that promise.

I love my Z10, but I think I'm getting an iPad 3 before I move to Japan. I am joining the dark side of the force. I'll keep my PlayBook, but the iPad will be my main tablet for play and entertainment.

Thing is I don't think they ever did. I know there was a lot of speculation they would but I don't remember BB actually saying it.

Bought a Q10 for a work phone today.
Don't know how I feel about it.
Once I get these swipe things memorized and working with my speedy fingers I'll love it a lot more.

So much to discover on this BB10

BlackBerry 10 on BlackBerry PlayBook

BlackBerry CEO on BB10 for PlayBook: "It was one of the toughest decisions I had to make":

http://crackberry.com/BlackBerry-CEO...-I-had-to-make

"That was a very tough decision to make. I could have done it, but you would have loads of comments on your site - 'How can Thorsten allow such a crappy product to be launched?' ... It was one of the toughest decisions I had to make because I knew I would break a commitment, but I also made a commitment to quality before that. ... I can't take the hardware back and provide them with 2 GB hardware. I can't exchange the part - there's no way to do this... I stand by the decision, as tough as it is. I apologize to the users that I couldn't get it done. What I did I did because I want them to have a quality experience with BlackBerry 10."

For what it's worth

http://gearpatrol.com/2013/07/11/10-best-smartphones/3/

Best keyboard smartphone: CrackBerry conformists have yet to embrace a full-touchscreen BlackBerry. Could you blame them, after they endured the BlackBerry Storm and Torch? Thankfully, the company formerly known as RIM hasn’t completely strayed away from its traditional mobile pedigree, equipping its second BB 10 handset with the signature QWERTY keyboard. Keys are solid and tactile feedback is responsive, making one-handed BBM-ing a breeze on the fly. Key shortcuts are still present and remain the same as on previous devices (example: pressing “N” will show your next message). Considering the handset carries the same guts as the Z10, the Q10 seems to be the faster performer and offers better touchscreen responsiveness. The recent 10.1 software update brings along better copy and paste control, HDR photos, PIN messaging, account-specific notifications, landscape calendar view, and much more.

Best enterprise smartphone: BlackBerry might still be labeled the laughing stock of the mobile world because of its blatant refusal to adapt with the times, but it’s somehow managed to weather the storm of condemnation and deliver quality in its BlackBerry 10 OS and next-gen handset, the Z10. How’s this possible when the phone carries the same spec sheet found on most mid-level handsets? Like in every other BlackBerry to come before it, all credit goes to the company’s industry-leading enterprise software. The inclusion of dual profiles (Personal and Work) lets you separate business from pleasure. Then there’s the BlackBerry Hub, a universal inbox that aggregates all notifications (BBMs, phone calls, emails, etc.). BlackBerry’s also gone out of its way to add some ultramodern flavor to the Z10, bringing touch gestures, an innovative camera burst mode, and a super-accurate virtual keyboard into the fold.

Q5 to launch Aug 13 in Canada this is going to be their entry level device like the curve used to be. This will be geared towards students who want a full featured smartphone without the higher pricetag. I believe you will see this in the 0-30 dollar price point on contract. Which will appease the highschool kid spending his/her own money or their parents who do not want to fork out 200 bucks on an iPhone GS4 Z/A/Q10.

Not surprising, BBM is by far the best Instant Messaging App on the market today.

It will be interesting to see how good the Android and iOS versions are.

The discounted Z10 is par for the course. The new Sony Experia is already discounted to $0 dollars on all carriers in the US and the S4 was at $69 dollars on Verizon and AT&T when I was in Best Buy in Port Huron on Sat.

True but the US Carriers really didn't get behind the Z10 like the rest of the Carriers did worldwide.

Hopefully the US Carriers do a better job with the upcoming A10.

Possibly. I know it is a tough go for wireless companies right now. I am moving to the new A10/Z30 or whatever they end up calling it in Nov when it is released. My fiance has moved to the Z10 from her dysfunctional iPhone5.

No offense but if it was the only reason to buy a Z10 or a Q10, then they're not very good phones to begin with.

I don't know if the gap is as wide as you believe.
My buddies and I use Hangouts and it's pretty darn nice. Design is clean functionality is simple yet pretty complete for a messaging service.

That being said, I'm still excited to try BBM on Android.

Does hangouts have its own servers? Encryption? Groups? Free Voice Chat? Free Video Chat? Send Receipts? Delivery Receipts? Read Receipts? App Integration?
