Defensemen minutes

Predict the order of defensemen in Mins/game for the upcoming season, from highest to lowest. With all the young guys we have, curious to see opinions on this. For me:

Weber
Josi
Klein
Jones
Ekholm
Ellis
Bartley

I think Jones really breaks out early.

on a normal night I think it is safe to say Weber will get 26, Josi 24, Klein 24, Jones 18 and bottom pair about 14.

at least it adds up to 120

In a perfect world yes ... We know Shea will get 1st Unit PK & PP Duty as well (could add up over the course of the season) over 30/game

Sorry, I had to

I agree, though. Jones will be protected.

No dman will average 30 a game. suter played forever for the wild and averaged 28 a game I thought. There will e games where he does approach that, no doubt. Those tight intra-conference games where he is on the ice every other shift for sure. Then you will also have those blowouts where Edmonton or Calgary comes in on a Monday and blasts us 6-1 for no reason where he puts under 20 in.

When was the last time Shea Weber played under 20 minutes a game?

Which was the last game of a season in which we were locked into the playoffs vs a non playoff team. That is understandable

The last time before that, was on 12-6-2010.

I honestly am excited to see Ekholm. I've been waiting for the dude to get up to the NHL as a mainstay and to see what he can do.

Curious, what are y'alls expectations of Ek?

2nd pairing guy playing around 18-20 minutes per game by the end of the season. good all around a
game. expecting production offensively after he gets settled
