Personally, I think it's Booth. It's hard not to expect him to get injured, but if he can string together a good run of healthy games with Kessler, I see him having a lot of success. Can't wait to see him back in the lineup.

Booth's a good pick considering he probably has 0 expectations at this point.

I'll go with Kesler or Hansen.

Kassian and Edler. (and I could see Bieksa being much better if he switches back to being more of a shutdown d-man)

Kassian will be given top 6 minutes and I could see Torts pushing him to being physical and gritty most games.
Edler could flourish under a hard-ass coach, and Torts and Sullivan could help Edler re-establish his defensive game and find consistency with a strict system.

I'm going to say Schroeder who some don't even think can beat out Gaunce or Horvat for 3rd line center. I think he can be a 10-15 goal, 20-25 assist guy playing on the 3rd line this season.

Schroder will shock everyone and get 20 goals
Kassasin 20 goals
Booth 20 goals
Edler 15 goals and nominated for Norris trophy
Bieska 13 goals

I could see Bieksa putting up numbers similar to Dan Girardi in 2011-12, but with more PIM's.

How many goals do you think this team, as a whole, will score?

This is what I'm leaning towards. While he was never as highly touted a prospect as Hodgson was, considering Schroeder is now older and more season I think he can have a rookie year similar to Hodgson had for us. Not counting getting traded that is.

I agree with Booth and Schroeder. People are treating Schroeder like he isn't even going to be NHL caliber-- I personally think he'll make Raymond-esque steps.

Also, Bieksa alternates yearly between being great and mostly awful, so he'll probably be great next year.

Jannik Hansen steps up and grab a permanent spot in the top six. Seems like the perfect player for Torts

I've been barking up that tree for two seasons! They made a great "kid line."

Remember this?

Torts would never take that line off the ice - he would literally be in love with it.

It depends on the expectations. I expect Luongo to attack the season like a dog on a bone.

I expect the Sedins to be slower and they will be gassed after the Olympics. I think their point per game days are over. I hope they can get sixty points apiece next season but I only expect fifty or less.

Kesler might really reach full potential. This could be his year. Imagine the USA wins gold medals!

Agreed, he has produced like a top 6 forward for a while now, and gets no credit because he "looks like a third liner"

Kassian and Booth, without a doubt

Booth will play the majority of the year, Kassian will finally get to play with booth/kesler and sedins.

Kesler will probably have a good year but our expectations of him are always high

For me, the answer is Jordan Schroeder.

Collectively, the expectations for him are very low, even though, for me, they've always been high. I loved the pick when it happened, and he is a guy that proved to me last year that he's ready to be in the NHL.

Really? You expect their production to drop off a cliff within one season?

There are lots of good possibilities being mentioned. My call is Tanev. Most seem to be seeing him as a bottom pairing guy. I think that with the inevitable injuries he'll get more minutes and show that even though he's not physical and doesn't put up a load of points, smart positioning and consistent, smart decisions count for a lot.
