Forsberg has been the most dominate player in the world in the last decade, but he hasnīt made anyone happy the last two years, and especially this year. He seems "off", the passes that used to go through sticks and legs, now tend to bounce off whatever is in the way.

No thanks. Not unless Malik or Rozsival is going in return.

According to Eklund, this is an e3.. lol

The Blues are trying to pry Petr Prucha out of the Rangers. The Rangers are desperate for defensive help and Eric Brewer is the name that looks to be going the other way. (e3)

Why would...

St. Louis trade away a defenseman when they themselves are having trouble on defense?

I think that is what everyone is saying. Damaged good and we don't want him. I believe you that he's playing hurt because........well when isn't he hurt? I am with most on this board and would much rather get someone who will cost less in a trade and also not be on IR half the year.

Having said that, I do think the Flyers will trade Foppa if things don't turn around for them. Chicago, LA, Dallas, and Calgary are all teams I can see being interested. And of course Toronto.

There is no way we are taking on Brewer without giving them Kasper in the deal in return or another one of our D. Prucha 4 Brewer is a terrible trade for the Rangers. I don't even think the Blues have a player I would trade Prucha for. You also have to remember that JD runs the Blues now and every player available in St. Louis is going to be headed to us in the media.

Again he's been playing with stiffs the whole time, and the Kings cant score a goal to save their lives. He just started playing with Frolov, outside of that he's been with guys who have hands of stone.

Out of curiosity, what would you be looking for from the Rangers in return?

Kaspar for Brewer?

I like it...of course, unless I missed something, Brewer still has value and would cost the Rangers more than Prucha.

Forsberg seems to be a different player not playing 'behind' Sakic.

Fletch, just wondering why u feel it will cost us more than just Prucha? I honestly don't think he's worth Prucha straight up. Brewer has had a + season ONE time. He doesn't put up a lot of points and he really hasn't been the player everyone thought he could become........the Blues are his 3rd NHL team.

Prucha while being small is younger, scored 30 + goals as a rookie, plays the game with his balls the the wall, and is cheaper. In the new NHL I don't see how Brewer has more trade value.

I haven't paid attention...

to Brewer's +/- stat and without watching a lot of games, cannot say if they're a direct result of him, lack of ES goals, goaltending, or a combination of all three. What have the +/-'s on the teams he played looked like? Are his minuses outliers and the rest of the teams pluses and thus something may be up? Was he a young player on bad teams with bad habits?

I've always liked Brewer. I haven't seen him much the last year or so, but he was a pretty steady defenseman and a decent puck mover. He's got decent size too and is (or was) a top four defenseman. He logs tons of minutes, and deserves those minutes. He's also entering his prime (I'm guessing he's around 26/26 years old).

Why would it take more than Prucha? Prucha's a complementary second/third line player. He's not going to be able to log on a lot of minutes. He needs help when he's out there because he doesn't carry the puck well and while he's improved defensively, is a bit one-dimensional, and the dimension is more of a shooter than and point scorer, and he's not taking a heck of a lot of shots this year (for a myriad of reasons). If I'm Davidson, I don't trade Brewer straight-up for Prucha. Brewer's a top four defenseman and has a nice size/skill combo. He never really lived up to his billing, but is more than serviceable and would look very nice on the Rangers' blue line.

RUMOUR: NYR and St. Louis

According to Ecklund (Now remember this is ECKLUND, the most unreliable rumour source), St. Louis is trying to get Prucha from the Rangers and the player being offered by St. Louis is Brewer (WAAAAAT). It's an E3.

First off No

Second off No

Third off I might vomit if this trade happened.

Why does Prucha's name keep comming up in all these supposed trade proposals. If this kid leaves this team there had better be a solid D man comming back, and not to knock the Blues but, I dont see that comming from them.

I would only settle on Erik Johnson! I maybe be a homer and I may overvalue Prucha but a team would have to seriously overpay to get Prucha..

Then we are both homers, because I feel the same way. That kid plays his butt off every shift, so they going to reward him by sending him to St. Louis, I hope not. Like I said I dont see them having any assets that could help the Rangers, except JD

It's believeable...

first, Sather did trade for Brewer years ago. The Rangers could do a lot worse than to have him on their blueline. Prucha contributes, but his ice time is inconsistent and Renney may not be as sold as everyone else. On left wing you have Dawes and Korps coming up, and Maloney believes Korps can play today in the NHL, but needs time to develop into a second line center. So I wouldn't be surprise if Sather is shopping him.

Never liked Brewer(take that Fletch). From his draft year, always thought he was overrated. Nice size, decent skater but never liked his balance or his ability to read the game(though, I thought that was a maturity issue). Progress was definitely slow and still looks like a #4 D-man.

Ironically, I think Toots will be this guy in a few years.

I saw that rumor and just laughed my arse off..DOn't get me wrong, I'm sure Davidson is indeed trying to get Prucha but No way in Hades just for Brewer who, though young, has seen his game slip...My take is that we can't afford to give up Prucha, who provides us with so much... But if the Rangers are considering dealing him to the Blues for for a D-man, since they have little of value up front, they better throw in CHristian Backman (who I like alot) ALSO and let us takeone of Malik in return...Blues might think it a high price, but we heve nobody to replace Prucha and if they really want him, they gotta pay...Nah, just keep Prucha..
