I've gotten Rangers PLAYOFF tickets 2nd hand for half of that.. No way a regular season game is going to be $300

I just dont think its going to be as bad as people believe, could be wrong. I guess it depends how much the face value tickets are.

I can see $200, $300 though I think is kinda outrageous. I guess we'll see.. Then again, Hal needs to make money so the Yankees have some to spend apparently so they might be outrageous at face value

do the yankees receive any money besides a stadium rental fee and some concessions since they own them from the NHL? not sure how these things work

Love that Gorton was there today. Here's hoping were starting to see the shift we've been waiting for for awhile now.

that sounds like the formula for the Winter Classic, I doubt it's like that for these type of games

dont see why it would be different.. the home teams will get the money they usually do from a sellout at home

why wouldn't they do it the same? Isles get the same revenue they would for a home sell-out. Rangers get whatever they would get, and the league splits the profit.

haha. $100 and you will be watching on your couch. Expect the cheapest seats to be field level. the first few rows about $125 each and the rest closer to $200. Middle deck about $350 and upper deck $250-300. Oh, and that is face value. If you are buying on the secondary market, it will be more. Those were the prices in Philly 2 years ago, and this will be similar.

As a season-ticket holder, I am glad they are the away team. I will still get tickets, and I do not lose 2 popular home games. I hate the new schedule format and losing a home game against the Isles and Devils would make it worse.

I doubt it will be much cheaper. The NHL is going to milk every cent they can. For the Isles and Devils fans it will likely be the only time they get a chance to see their team in an outdoor game. Rangers fans have been waiting for a "home" outdoor game. Plus, for the wednesday night game, you will have people in town for the Super Bowl. I know a broker in Ontario who sells Super Bowl tickets and Rangers tickets. He is selling packages, Super Bowl, the wednesday night game, and the Rangers-Isles game on Friday at the Garden.

If I had to fathom a guess, I would say they are getting the rental fee, but a lot higher than they would for say a international exhibition soccer game. They get the concessions with a cut going to the NHL, but the Yankees will make the majority of the concession revenue. Yankees will also likely get a cut of the merchandise sales/licensing fee since stadium images will be over the shirts/hats/jackets/etc.

Do you think it will be reasonable to get a seat for under 200 for one of the games?
The Rangers will host correct?

When do tickets go on sale?

Someone posted the image of Citizen's Bank Park from 2 years ago - the cheapest ticket available on the secondary market that year as of December 29th, 2011 was $357 dollars for Section 301 row 4.

The average was about $400 dollars.

From what I've been told, since the Devils are the home team, the Devils get the majority of the tickets, the Rangers get a % of the tickets for their STH, and the venue gets a % of the tickets.

I know Yankees STH that have already purchased their Winter Classic tickets.

Seats for under $200 aren't going to happen. There will likely be a lottery among new STH for the remaining tickets and I sincerely doubt many tickets go to the general public. I know the Flyers were given more tickets than the Rangers two years ago, and had a lottery for those remaining tickets.

Expect to pay $300+.

I paid $275 each ticket for the opening of the new Yankee Stadium and even though the game sucked, it was totally worth the experience. I'm willing to pay alot for this one, and we also have almost 5 months (since its late Jan) to save up.

It's once in a lifetime! Definitely worth it if you can pull it off. I recommend, if money is tight, making friends with some Devils STH now. I know we've been told, since we get more tickets being the home team, that STH might be able to purchase additional seats.

Given how our STH base is much smaller than yours, we'll likely be able to purchase additional tickets.

I can't see how that's possible that the Devils get more tickets. Can anyone confirm what he said?

Having gone to Philly last year (admittedly, for "regular" price, as a STH), I will continue to say, it's absolutely worth it. Atmosphere was crazy, view was not as bad as it's made out to be, pre-game stuff is awesome and it was obviously an awesome game

That's what a rep told me. Devils being the "home team" will get more. We were talking about my dislike of losing a true home game against the Rangers, expecting YS to be blue, and he said that he thinks it will be 50/50 at the very least because the Devils will get more tickets giving up the home game.

This was true for the Flyers two years ago because there were questions as to why the team with the bigger STH fan base had enough left over for a lottery while the other team didn't. Turns out the Flyers were just given more.

Flyers were given 19K. Rangers less. Decent read on allocation.
