Is Kapanens puck poise level on par with Dustin Roses?

More Martin Skoula than Rose.

Perreault? Or is this an "in my lifetime" sort of thing?

Agree with this, we went D-heavy in '13 and this team needs high-end offensive talent more than anything right now. Our defense pipeline is stacked, and we don't have too many promising wingers specifically (Armia, Girgs). Guys like Clarke, Godolbin, and, if we tank hard enough, Nylander, are ideal IMO

Doubt we will be bottom 3, would be happy to get Draisaitl.

McKeens released its preliminary first-round rankings.

http://www.mckeenshockey.com/draft-b...hl-draft-list/

Ekblad at seven is peculiar. No Barbashev or Goldobin. Ho Sang is low.

Spencer Watson is about the same size as Ennis, so no thanks.

Blake Clarke is really intriguing.

Yeah, we don't need elite goal scorers.

He also led the Hlinka tournament with 10 points in 5 games. At 16/17 there is still room to get bigger as well. He is better than Ennis at the same age and could go top 10 despite his size.

Spencer Watson is also 6 years younger than Ennis so it really is a non factor...

I want Sam Bennett. The guy to me is a better Horvat.

Bennett is intriguing. I really like Kasper Kapanen. The Russians ooze skill and talent. I see Mistele continuing to rise (a guy who can score who is already 6ft 2)

agreed plus he already is taller than Ennis. He is listed at most places at 5ft 10 and like you said, is 6 years younger and could easily still reach 6 ft. Elite goal scoring ability is necessary on this team and Watson would provide that.
I also meant to put in my last post that Blake Clarke is another guy of interest. He put up Cody Hodgson and Matt Duchene type numbers in Brampton as a rookie this year.

I have no issue with size in the upcoming draftees. Buffalo has done a much better job finding talent with size in recent years so it isn't an overwhelming consideration. Besides, there are enough smaller waterbug type offensive guys in this draft to be intriguing. Not everyone need be 6'2" up front. The issue is that Buffalo has now gotten past having 3-5 roster players 5'10" or less. They really only have one sprite left in Ennis.

I wish there wasn't the usual USH BS with Clarke. They aren't treating him all that well and for no reason anyone anywhere has revealed.

Not trying to knock on the kid, all I was saying is as of right now, he better do some bulking up. Still a great talent.

This draft is seeming to be ridiculously OHL-heavy, wow.

He is apparently close to 170 now. He's getting there.

Also nice to see Bennett finally receiving some respect.
