Watching the Bills tempo on the first drive is another reason Fred Jackson is going to be very important--especially if Marrone runs as much as he has so far. Spiller (or any back for that matter) is gonna be very tired running on consecutive downs without the whole 40 seconds between plays, he's gonna need to get breathers.

How long will EJ3 play today? Might as well have him play and play as a Rook. Give him experience.

Bills are definitely going to need to focus on red zone offense. They're not going to survive or have a chance to win games if they come away with three points when they're inside the 20.

With Kolb hurt and dressed as the emergency QB, Manuel and Tuel are the 2 QBs who'll play today. I imagine they'll give Manuel the whole 1st half.

Spiller might be done for the day. No need to risk injury to him, we know what he can do. I imagine Jackson will be done after a few more drives.

Yeah, I wouldn't be opposed to playing Manuel a little in the 2nd half as well. The guy needs the snaps.

Anyone worried about our defense getting tired out with such a fast-paced offense?

I don't see the point in running their offense so fast, either. They need to take more time at the line instead of running a mini rush offense all the time. All they're doing is putting their defense on the field more and faster.

This sis something they are practicing on doing.

I dont see them doing this the entire game but instead at random points if they feel they may have a positional/personnel advantage.

Now that we're into the backups on D:

--Alonso is the real deal. Dude is great out there.
--Brooks got manhandled at CB. McKelvin has experience, but CB2 is in need of a major upgrade next offseason.
--Williams looks much better at safety

Run D still looks very suspect.

A lot of us questioned the pick of Goodwin (myself included), but he's looking like a steal. The guy is dangerous every time he touches the ball.

They were running a read option out of it too. Fake handoff to Freddie and then taking it outside with EJ and CJ. Could be alot of fun to watch.

Goodwin is also gonna make McKelvin expendable since we won't need his return ability. McKelvin needs to improve at CB or he might not be on the roster next year.

Can't see the game. Does EJ have time to throw downfield at all?

Really nice drive from Manuel.

But I'd like to see him air the ball out a little more in general. Let's see that powerful arm of his. The TD was his first throw >15 yards in the air.

Manuel doesn't look half bad....I think he could have a very bright future in Buffalo. I'm excited to see what he can do this season.

Very nice EJ, very nice. I almost wonder if it's better to end his day there while his confidence is high.

Yeah, only pressured once or twice, one was about a 25 yard run, and he was very, very smart with the football. Clearly not the whole playbook, mostly 5-10 yard passes, seems EJ and Woods have a great connection already. Ran a very nice 2 min drill. So happy it looks like we won't have to play Kolb.

I feel the same way, but I think maybe the coaching staff was trying to give EJ some easy throws to build up his confidence.

Really happy to see Manual finally get into a rhythm though.

Outside of a few plays he hasnt had much pressure. He uses his mobility to buy some time.

He has done a couple of runs---some were designed option for him to run, others were final options on pass plays.

On the 2 minute drill he did a design option run to get the 1st down around midfield.
