Makes too much sense, he'll be what like 35 or 36 when his contracts up? Perfect typical NYR signing

People are all laughing off the idea of a 36 year old Malkin. I would love to get a 36 year old Malkin. His game isn't built on speed or grit, I think he'll age very well.

With all this talk about Malkin around the NHL, you'd think he's a free agent.

Oh, I thought it did. Or did Malkin just change his mind almost as quickly as Kovalchuk?

If Malkin pulled a Kovalchuk, but then returned to the NHL, he'd still be Penguins property right?

Kovalchuk changed his mind with the Devils and "retired" and bolted to the KHL.

Malkin won't be a free agent until 2022 and there's all this talk about him like he's a free agent. Did he change his mind?

Yeah, but all 30 teams would have to ok his comeback or he'd have to take a year off to return.

Rangers should have a lot of cap-space in the summer of 2022

Good to know, especially when he's 35+ years old and on the market, too bad sathers over the whole overpaying guys that are over the hill phase.

Someone is Russia is storing the pot, there's a thread about Dallas offering Malkin some rediculous contract on the main board, great tactics KHL...

If you want to ignore the millions and millions of dollars he's paying players he signed to not play for this team, than yes, he's moved on nicely. Oh and what's the first thing he's going to do next summer?
