At this rate, the Avs won't have any numbers left to retire.

Once Hejduk's is in the rafters we probably won't see another one for 10-20 years and the 10 year mark is if Stastny or Johnson can make a big impact quickly and retire....weird to think about

Happy for Foote!

That's why they should wait a little while with Hedgie. Spread it out a bit.

That's cool! Very nice to see Defensive-defenseman getting his jersey retired. Totally deserved this as well.

Wait, are you saying Stastny or Johnson might get their numbers retired? Never.

Yeah, pretty much next in line is probaby one of our young forwards (Duchene, Mac or Lando) if the team performs and they are a huge part of the performances year after year.

Initially, when I saw how many players had numbers retired by the Avs I thought this was a banality. But I looked up underappreciated players such as Tardif and Goulet and realize that these players are importantant to the history of the avs in the wha era.

Foote is one of those solid defensemen that only every game fans can truly appreciate. For my team (hurricanes) a comparible would be glen wesley. His jersey is also retired.

Stastny is 27, he still has the chance to play another 7-10 seasons with us. If he were to retire having played as an Av the entire time and been with us for 1 or 2 championships during that time period he easily would deserve the honor, similar to Hejduk being on people's lists right now.

...And really Johnson could too. He's only 25. I don't know if either dowa stay with the team or plays well enough for it but that's why I clarified in my first post.

He has a lot of work to get there then. Hejduk is on peoples lists because the dude is top 5 in points, goals, and assists ALL TIME for the Nords/Avs franchise.

Congrats Footer!

If Staz stays here for another 5 years he has a great chance of his jersey being hung in the rafters. If he stays an Av for his entire career, no doubt he goes up.

Stastny is top 10 in points and assists and just outside the top 10 in goals with half the games played of Hejduk.

Another 7-10 seasons and he'll pass Hejduk. I really hope he does that too, would be interesting to see people clamoring for his jersey retirement then after all the crap he gets now.

They should put a photo of him in the visiting locker room to scare the opposition.
