Agreed.. We need to give him a chance.

I suggest holding a vigil for Chris at Oratoire St-Joseph; with the power of prayer, we can hopefully reduce his recovery time dramatically. What time is good for you guys?

It seems logical that if you play hockey on an injured ankle you are more likely to make it worse.

It would be in the Habs best interest to throw Johnson on the first line to repace Higgins. Much like Higgins he can score and is responsible defensively as proven on the third line.

I think I'm going to cry...

This sucks monkey balls.

I hope Higgins has a speedy recovery. He is quickly becoming my favourite Hab (after Koivu) and I hope we'll be okay without him.

Should tonights lines struggle, I would relly like to see Koivu back with Kovalev and Perezhogin.

I think the team has to put him on long-term injury, which has to be a minimum 24 days or 10 games if I remember correctly.

The team then doesn't get salary relief per se, they just get to replace his salary with that of a replacement player even if that takes them over the cap. They would have to come back under the cap once the player returns (and the injured player's salary counts as if he was there all along, so you don't get a break for the games he missed).

This is however moot because Higgin's salary isn't that much to begin with and adding a player of similar salary probably doesn't take the Habs over the cap (although I haven't done the math, somebody correct me if I'm mistaken).

There's only 1 trophy I care about.....

Besides, last time one of ours won trophies, you know what happened.....No reason to overpay a player just because of the hardware he won.....He'll get, a much much deserving high raise, I wouldn't dream to imagine what his agent would ask if he would won that trophy this year....

But then, he'll end up winning it at one point or another in his life, so we'll have to deal with this when the time comes.....

I need to vent!!!!

****!!!!!! ****!!!!!!!!! stupid son of a *****!!!! Why did Higgy have to get ****** hurt!!!!!!! Why!!!!!

Alright, I have calm down somewhat.

Well, I guess we have to try and put some sort of positive spin on this, so....I guess this is better to have happened in November that in May (or June), and I guess it will help us see if Latendresse is ready for prime NHL minutes.

Ahhh.....this isn't helping. I'm going back to venting!!!!

****!!!! ****!!!!!

Well I really hope the Habs step it up in his absence - they buckled for a long stretch last year when they lost some key players. Although they have handled things pretty well to this point this year with losses to Dandenault and Bouillon, this is a loss on a completely new level - similar to the loss, imo, of Koivu last year. Higgins has done it all this year and I hope the rest of the team can rise above his loss and show some depth and character.

By the way, who hit him along the boards, was it Colin White? I need a name, a face to actually hate the guy for life......

If I don't have a name, I'll just put the blame on Justin Williams....

I'm still shocked...when he came back to finish the game I was pretty happy. Obviously it wasn't a smart thing to do in the end.

Hopefully it is a speedy recovery...Higgins looked way beyond his years this season. I feel sorry for Koivu...Higgins' skating really made up for a lot on his line.

I'm mad too Whitesnake...

it's funny to see the desperate posters here.

Just calm down, we have depth, it's not like losing Higgins a few week is going to doom us even if he is an important player.

I think it's going to be a great test for guys that were not that much in the spotlight.

I just hope we bring Laps or Kost up and don't play Murray/Downey every game.
