Phi+Mon-To replace Higgins for the mean time

Well considering Higgins is out for 6 weeks . I think we should bring in a replacement that could fill in for the mean time.

To Philadelphia:
D-Mark Streit
2nd or 3rd Pick

To Montreal:
LW-Geoff Sanderson

you're panicking, get a hold of yourself, you haven't seen them play yet without Higgins

I think we'd do a whole lot worse with one AHL D and Sanderson than with Kostitsyn or Lapierre and 6 NHL D.

Only if we can reverse that trade when Higgins is back.

I dont like that idea. We only need short term plug for Higgins spot - Sanderson is signed thru next season also, tying up the money needed to keep our defence together.

Woh there cowboy... Giving youngsters a chance to prove themselves is unheard of in montreal. Unless of course they are french.

For once, there is now a spot for Lapierre or Kostitsyn on the roster. One of them will be brought up, and unfortunately for Kostitsyn, I hope he won't be called to make him understand he won't make it to the NHL if he doesn't work hard. Some players weren't shown that in the past, and we now pay the price for it (see some russian names here).

I don't think this trade would be a good idea because the habs alredy have the depth to replace Higgins. Bringing Jonhson on the first line would do the job and there are a few players in Hamilton that you can recall to replace jonhson on the 3th line.

Also, trading Streit is a bad idea because the team has some injuries
in defence and if he leaves who will replace him on defence: Dan Jancevski, André benoit, Danny Groulx...

Really, this trade is a bad idea

Hummm... I don't the exacty salary of Geoff Sanderson, thus I'm sure it's higher than Streit.

Thus
Streit has more trade value than Sanderson, especially for a team who has a very, very bad defense (Philly). Remember, he's signed for 2 years.

Thus
Why add a 2nd rounder on a trade when you're giving away the most valuable commodity?

we need a center, and if he's coming from Philly, how about Nedved. Poor guy he's playing with the Phantoms. For 750K, I would give him a chance.
