Doesn't Yankee Stadium hold about 56000 people? I have a feeling there will be enough tickets to go around for both fan bases & than some. When I was thinking about going to the winter classic in Philly the week of the game a ticket for a decent seat were about $175. So it's very possible we may see $200 tickets.

Some seats just didn't work for Philly. Some seats just don't work in the Bronx.

Take this for what it's worth. A friend of mine who is an Isles fan was planning on going with a group of about 20 guys. His friend was organizing it and is an Isles STH for a long time and has an in at the Coliseum. He was told $260 each. He didnt know what section, if that was cheapest. Just passing on the info.

Will there be unique jerseys worn for these games or the regular road whites?

i would say legends seats and the first few rows will be made available to youth organizations because the view sucks.

i think they might do seats temp seats in center field like they did in philly.

id say with standing room they get 50,000 in.

I just can't see them not useing all the seating. You can erect tempoary seats in the field for a concert, set a stage up in the outfield during baseball season & still pack the place in but not for a hockey game? That doesn't make much sense to me.

For Citizens Bank park the baseball capacity is 43K. 46k attended.

The Flyers received 19k tickets and the Rangers received less (link posted above). I was told its 60/40 split of tickets avail to the teams.

Anyway using that as an example the Devils, being the home team, likely get 19k or so with the rangers getting around 16k. The rest will go to corporate sponsors, charity, and media.

right.. yankee stadium sits 50,291. with standing room and extra seating brought in they actually can probably get to 53,000 or 54,000. it sits 54,251 for football. i wouldnt be shocked if the NHL tries to break the record.

Good point. We know the Devils will get more tickets. Question is whether the NHL will distribute more to the teams than they usually do or distribute more to corporate sponsors.

For CBP, the Rangers gave tickets out by tenure since they weren't given enough to fill MSG.

every season ticket holder was eventually asked if they wanted to get tickets.

truth be told, i wouldnt be shocked if the rangers/devils end up getting the same allotment of tickets.

in general though for these stadium series games i think the teams will get more tickets than they usually do for the WC or heritage classic

As a New York Islanders ticket subscriber, suite holder or sponsor, you will receive exclusive ticket access for a limited time only, to witness league MVP finalist John Tavares and the New York Islanders take the ice against their cross-town rivals, the New York Rangers.

In the upcoming days, you will receive time sensitive information pertaining to the purchase of your tickets to the 2014 Coors Light Stadium Series game from the team allotment.
http://islanders.nhl.com/club/news.h...id=DL|NYI|home

Hopefully this means NYR STH will be getting info soon too.

Also important to note that their partial plan holders will be getting access to tix too. Who knows if that's because their STH base isn't as big as the Rangers or because their allotment of tickets is bigger than the Rangers.

I know Yankees STH that have already purchased their Winter Classic tickets.

Seats for under $200 aren't going to happen. There will likely be a lottery among new STH for the remaining tickets and I sincerely doubt many tickets go to the general public. I know the Flyers were given more tickets than the Rangers two years ago, and had a lottery for those remaining tickets.

Expect to pay $300+.
i can confirm that yankee STH have not been offered anything for these games as of yet.

plus, if this were true i can guarantee some of these seats would be floating on the open market on stubhub or ticket network (ticket brokers). as of right now, this is not the case.

That's because they'll only offer to STHs who sign on for next year. It may be a while before those offers go out

I really don't think this will be anywhere near as expensive as WC tickets, especially for the weekday night game. The appeal for the general NHL fan won't be the same as the old WC since there are now multiple outdoor games, so the NHL won't take out their normal allotment of tickets as they have in the past for an outdoor game.

Plus who knows if Islander fans complaining about taking the train to Brooklyn in a couple of years are really going to head into the Bronx on a weeknight over making a few easy bucks on stubhub. There will be plenty of tickets available on the secondary market.

Gotta completely disagree there. In terms of national TV ratings, that is true. But in terms of local interest, it will be even HIGHER than the WC since it's right here at Yankee Stadium. They can charge even more than the WC and they will still sell out

That's what I meant, out of town fans of other teams who in the past would try to get to the WC aren't going to come to NY on a Tuesday night to watch Isles-Rangers.

So? 90% of Isles and Rangers fans in this area WILL be trying to get tickets for this game. As for out of town fans, it is the week of the Super Bowl and plenty of people will be in town for that game. While here, if they are hockey fans will likely be interested in attending as well. These games will not only sell out, but will go for big money on the secondary market.

Probably right, I was stupid and didn't pick up on that and my 1/31 Islanders-Rangers tickets sold in a blink of an eye. That game has crazy demand and it's because of people coming in for Super Bowl Sunday. I really wish I had held on. I don't think the Yankee Stadium game will have the same Super Bowl Effect because it's a Wednesday but it will get something of an extra boost

I think the Islanders game might go for more because its a weekend. Both will be relatively expensive though, but it will be so worth the experience.
