7. Malik (although he is starting to pick it up as of late)
pick up what exactly.? i think you mean picked off.. like his behind the back pass to nobody at center ice translating into a turn-over mini break away vs buffalo.. one of his many almost assists on the season.. com'n this guy is stinking it up more then anyone on the defense right now.. he should be on the next bus down to hartford.. pock should be playing until he plays himself out of the lineup..
Same here. Alot people have Roszy lower, but I've seen him make some good plays-amongst the bad. I can't believe we all have Ozo this high, I'm still confused. Praises to Renney for seeing what most of us didn't, but then again that's probably why we're here, and he's behind the bench.
I've watched all of them which means I've seen Rachunek and especially Roszival turn the puck over way more than Malik has. All 3 of them have been terrible but Malik is slightly smarter with the puck that's why he's ahead of the other 2.
As for Pock-Ozo, they haven't really played enough for me to say they're in our top 4. A few decent games doesn't erase how bad Ozolinsh was against the Devils.
Malik hasn't done anything great since "the shot" last season. At best he's been ok this year.
this guy is scared to hit, i wish we had a more physical dman who is 6'5 235. I hope Jake Taylor or David Liffiton would make it in the future. They play a physical game and can clear the crease. Baranka also has a mean streak which I like, Id take him over soft malik.
who may play a game here or there while filling in for an injury, but I'm not sure it will be much more than that. I've always liked him, but he seems to not be able to stay healthy and I'm not sure the footspeed is there.
Liffiton, in the couple games I've watched, hasn't looked good at all.
I like Baranka a lot, however, but he too needs to figure out how to stay healthy.
And personally, I don't care if Malik hits or not. If he can be effective without hitting, and he has been, then fine. But to not hit and not be effective is no OK with me.
on Tyutin's inconsistency - less than last season, but he still have lapses each game (inlcuding the last game which led to the tying goal and enabled the Sabres to get the winning goal). I'm not sure 50/50's the right number, but he does go against top lines on occasion. The comment was meant more towards people who think Pock should be in instead of Malik, or Rachunek or Ozo. I do believe that Malik has been this team's worst defenseman this season, taking everything into consideration, and oddly enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a plus.
I agree...I think he's the most overrated Ranger in years. I think the defense is a complete joke, and will be the reason the Rangers miss the playoffs this year.
