How about Kadri + Reilly for an established #1 C?

Who would Toronto want for that package?

Who do you consider an established #1C? Most teams don't move established #1C, unless they have somebody who is coming to fill that role, an RFA, or a really bad contract.

In a dream world (not named Malkin, Crosby, Toews, Tavares) Getzlaf would be the perfect center for the leafs.

Kadri
Franson

To Toronto

Just value wise?

In the 2011-2012 season (last full one) there were 13 Cs who scored 65 points or better. There were only 8 who scored 70 or better.

In the 2010-2011 season there were 18 Cs who scored 65 points or better. There were only 10 who scored 70 or better.

Seems like if you are a consistent 65-70+ player you are in the 1st line C category to me

There's a difference between first line center and number 1 center . There are 30 first line centers in the league but their aren't 30 number 1 centers. Just like their are 60 first pairing dman, but there aren't 60 number one dmen.

IMO Ottawa would have to add.

Kadri and Cowen are close in value. Cowen is a bit more proven but has injury concerns. Kadri is a bit less proven but has had the better NHL season of either player.
I wouldn't trade Kadri straight up for Cowen but mostly because we need a center more than we need a defenceman. I could understand if some people would prefer Cowen but again I think the value is close

And on the other hand IMO Franson has more value than Conacher. Conacher's production dropped after he left Tampa and I think his size will hold him back long term. I think Franson will turn out to be a top 4 dman but at the very least he will be a high end bottom pairing guy who is physical produces on the PP.
