Like I said in another thread; Great article, and it shows what Souray means to the team, and what the team means to him. I hope Gainey can get this guy re-signed.

As mentioned above, Higgins will be out for six weeks with an ankle sprain, which may force Gainey to search for help up front. Sources say Gainey may have interest in Petr Nedved who was recently waived by the Flyers or he may look to trade.

Nooooooooo, don't get Bizarro Nedved. I'd like to see Bizarro promoting from within and building Bizarro talent.

Why don't we trade for Yashin while we're at it?

My read of Souray's comments about good chemistry this season (as opposed to previous seasons) is that he's relieved the Three Amigos are gone.

When Carbo was announced as the next Habs head coach, he emphasized the importance of the "family spirit". He's been true to his word, he's implemented his plan and it's become a major element of the Habs' current successes.

Sure, the record is not as good as last year, but the play has been more consistent and it simply feels more solid, less of a fluke. There are a lot more contributors and nobody seems lost or out of place. Last year they would fold at the first sign of adversity, this year they either bounce back immediately, or even use it as motivation (see the Calgary Flames game).

I think they just might have a formula for sustainable success.

"Previously, the Habs have been unable to carry over the momentum from the previous spring into a new season. That has changed this fall as the Habs have jumped out to a 8-3-3 start. As Sheldon Souray pointed out recently, the chemistry has grown both on and off the ice in Montreal."

last year was a 13-3-3 start.

Last year;

1. Teams were not as balanced
2. We played suckier teams at the begining of the year (from what I remember). This year we've played solid teams thus far. Then again, other than Phoenix and Philly, there are no "sucky" teams left... The NHL is fairly balanced and every team can pull a W on any given night. Which makes 8-3-3 pretty outstanding for us.

The article purposely neglects are even better start last year in order to make its point. On another note, I love the chemistry this team has, its really evident from watching them play and hearing their interviews that there's a real team spirit that wasn't there previously.

thats BS, I usually dont agree with what Gabriel Morency says on sportsrage but last night at around 2 he said something and I completly agreed. No matter what BG does, it's a shocker, NOONE ever knows what he is gonna do untill it happens so any speculation, any rumor or any source that says sumthing refering to a montreal trade, is complete bs.
