Dandeneault back next week

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=183354&hubname=

Less ice time for Ninima and Streit = good thing.

I think they should play Dandeneault on fourth line.

This is good news but I feel that he may not be replacing Niinimaa or Streit but I feel Rivet will get some time off. Rivet I believe is still hurting from that shot block against the Sens in the home opener. But no matter who he gives a bit of a break it will be a good thing defensive depth will be nice to have.

Thank God. Get Janne off the ice. It's gonna be nice to see Dandy back on the ice. He is an important part of this team.

It'd be nice if he joined us for the second part of the road trip!

U forget that Dandenault was one of the best Dmen in the team before his injury. Hes a defenseman, not a forward. This experiment is over.

I would definitely play Dandy with Janne as our third pairing.

Perhaps, but it does give Carbonneau another option.

Great news, curious to see if Carbo runs with 7 Defencemen and 11 Forwards for some games with Streit/Ninimmaa more Powerplay time while Dandenault takes more time 5on5 and Pk.

If Rivet is still hurting from the shot, I hope he gets another one the minute he feels better. He has played his best 2 games of the season the last 2. By the way, what makes you think he is still hurt? He isn't showing signs that I can see.

Well his defensive zone play was amazing the last few games especially last night but if you watch him turn and his first few steps they seem more laboured than usual. I really think he is playing through a terrible foot injury.

actually he's a forward not a defenseman....
drafter as a forward played all his life as a forward until he got to detroit and scotty bowman needed a d and turned him into a D

It's not just his defensive play. He also scored last night. I think you are off on this one. He looks fine to me. If he sits out for any reason after Dandenault comes back though, I will eat my words.

why play Janne thought...

with dandy back our D will look almost like it did last year since streit played more than half the season....

Id rather have streit than Janne....

i think streit has been making some mistakes but also due to his play with Janne...
All D make mistakes but usually their partners cover for them...Janne tried and just fumbles again and also forces his partner to do more to cover Jannes faults thus overcommiting his partner and making them commit more errors

Yesterday was by far Rivet's best game in years. Im not saying that because he scored. ALso Souray has been great defensively lately.

When Dandenault is back I hope Streit doesn't sit. He has played pretty good so far and I think can continue to improve and cut down on his errors. Then again, Niinimaa has done pretty well considering he's on his wrong side. It's unfortunate that someone will have to sit, but hey, it's nice to have options.

That's exactly what I was thinking. They could even sort of double shift him on the third pairing, as well as the fourth line. I don't see the Murray/Pleks/Downey line holding up that well.

Plus having Dandy on the fourth line would take away the need to call someone up

Janne has been our worst Dman BY FAR. I'll be quite ticked off if he gets the nod instead of Streit.

Tough call. I guess Niniimaa is the weak link if you have to define it that way. Streit makes some mistakes but he can do a few things to redeem himself that Janne hasn't shown yet. Probably a rotation of some sort that will cause endless debate and an assumptuion that trade winds are blowing.

Niinimaa has been aweful anyway you look at it...And if Dandy replaces Streit, then Niinimaa will still play the wrong side.

Again, what I was thinking. What's the point of calling up Lapierre and forcing him to play out of position (on the wing)? Kostitsyn isn't the type of player we want on the fourth line, either. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Dandy play right wing when he comes back.

As an aside, did anyone see how aggressive Souray was last night on the forecheck? It was completely bizarre to me, but he was actually quite effective down low. Maybe we should put him on the fourth line

Thats great news!! We need Dandy back in our roster I dont really understand why Niinimaa always try those fancy cross ice passes in our own defense zone, just clear puck out of zone..that can be so difficult Janne, or is it?

Streit deserve some games in the stands just for the goal he allowed last night. Losing the puck in the neutral zone, ok, but geez, ive seen pee-wee players cover their guy better on a 2 on 2. The guy was skating backward with Winchester BEHIND him, the whole time I was like, turn around.. turn around.. too late.
