You're right, it sounds bizarre.
There's no such thing as being in too good of a shape, he's really not that ripped. He's in solid good shape.

As long as his muscle and bulk, doesn't hinder the skating ability...his agility has to continue to improve also...the kid seems so motivated to be the best!

He's not doing bodybuilding workouts, and agility is important in hockey so I'm sure this is being taken into consideration, so I don't think we have to worry that.

He looks even more powerful than last season.

I recall so many occasions when he'd control the puck on his stick with one hand and reach behind with the other to stiff-arm the checker behind him.

Outstanding strength and balance. We are very fortunate as fans to have him on our team.

If you ever hit the gym, you'd know you don't only have to "hit the gym" to have a body like that. Heh... why don't you go next to Subban and do the same **** he's doing if you're that strong/fit?

Darn right (and drafted in 2nd Rnd!! when he should have been 1st overall, imo).

Strongest man competitors aren't ripped at all.

I'm pretty sure he's implying he's not a monster and just in excellent shape. At the gym there would be guys much larger but he's not a bodybuilder. It's about power, balance, endurance and agility and subban has plenty.

It's just a way to say that PK isn't that ripped, and I agree. He's in great shape, no doubt, but nothing impressive here.

By not impressive, in this context, I assume you mean he's no bodybuilder. Outside of that, his physique is unbelievable by hockey standards.

Look out for other hockey players who are built like this.

"Nothing impressive?" Come on. He's heads and shoulders above everyone on this team, and I'm not even sure we need all of one hand's fingers to count the amount of players in this league who are in comparable shape.

If you think in bodybuilders' standards, well obviously, he's nothing exceptional. That being said, he's a hockey player still working on cardio and endurance at the same time he's bulking up. Which is something even more impressive.

What?

so you're definition of ripped must be something like this?

I am willing to bet that PK fits into the top 3% of all world athletes in muscle mass/body fat.

That's what I was thinking...He's not "ripped" at all lol

HOWEVER, that's irrelevant (mirror muscles don't count for much). He looks strong as an ox, and THAT is awesome. If he's starts pushing bigger dudes around and dealing some pain...he will totally turn into one scray D-man for us. This kid should be captain and the face of our franchise. No question about it.

Good lord. Here come the internet gym rats

Carry on guys; Nothing to see here. Subban is in average shape, HF experts/bodybuilders say XD

Get off your high horses guys. Even in the NHL, I can hardly think of any player who's that muscular and massive, all that while having seemingly that low of a body fat.

I know this really has nothing to do with Subban (in fact it has nothign to do with him) but along the lines of fitness I saw that Ian Lapierre jsut completed Ironman Mount Tremblant.

A really amazing accomplishment after all the trouble he had with his last head injury.

He's arguably our best player why would we want him to fight? ...we have White, Prust, Moen and Parros to do that?
