Can't use Michalek and Toffoli is not on the table. Toffoli's production from a tiny cap hit is exactly what LA needs right now.

Leafs are no contenders for the cup but they're a team on the up, a young team which got valuable playoff experience last season and the goal would be to do better than last season. JVR is a proven postseason player, he did with the Flyers and with the Leafs, If they are trading him it would be for a player who will help them stay competitive not only in the regular season but also in the playoffs . So who is this someone? What is his potential? is he upgrade over Reimer or Bernier? and what more would they add?

I agree. Leafs are looking to make some noise. They're not trying to be Calgary here.

The only deal I could see between these teams would be a positional trade, i.e., like Carter for JVR.

Not saying anything on value, and I think each team would rather keep their player, but like I said, positional trade.

I'm bored so I'll throw out a name from the Hawks- Brandon Saad.

I have no idea what LA could send back that would make sense for both clubs or how the money would work but it's a hypothetical so why not?

Sorry. I wasnt talking about a goalie. I was talking about trading you a big forward who will go to the net.

The Kings flat out do not have the cap space to add a top six LW unless someone like Williams or Stoll is traded.

Mitchell has no real value to buffalo. They will likely send him down to Rochester. If he isnt healthy they will just put him on LTIR.

As far as picks/prospects...they would probably ask to turn one of the LA 2014 and 2015 2nds they have into a 1st + 2 prospects below NHL level

Right. Or we sacrifice so much of our (near) future that the other team keeps salary in like a 4 for 1 deal.

All we can really do is trade Muzzin or Martinez for a forward prospect of similar value but it probably won't get us any options better than what we already have in Toffoli or Frattin.

Best case scenario for the Kings is that a line of Toffoli - Richards - Carter, in any position combination, can develop chemistry.

Brown - Kopitar - Williams
Richards - Carter - Toffoli (Or Toffoli at left, Carter at right, Richards at center)
Frattin - Stoll - Lewis
Clifford - Fraser - King/Nolan

That'd be my guess. The fourth line could be any combination of a number of rookies and veterans, so I won't even get into that.

Richards can't play wing.
