Everything indicates so. Why? Have you been hearing about Swiss interest or something?

Well he's not making the Habs. That much you can bank on.

Totally with you.

I'm reasonably sure he'd end up making the team as a bottom 6 forward a few years down the road, and I don't see him ever making it as a D-man in the NHL on a contending team.

And we want a contender, right?

I believe they're about to trade Archambault.

I believe they'll wait to see if the Wild will sign him to a contract and send him to their AHL affiliate.

Jonathan Narbonne was invited to the canadien prospect camp. He was a really good D in the Q. He could earn an AHL contract.

Dont get overboard with camp highlight... The level of skill/intensity/caliber in a Q camp is like half of a regular game. Some guys look like superstar in the camp, but never translate it to the real league. I dont say it is the case with this guy, but just what i said in mind. The level of opposition is often made of people that will never play in the league.

I hope the Habs invite Tyler Hill at their camp. Apparently he's now listed at 6"4 intead of 6"7, wich is actualy a good thing for a forward.

Don't know where you saw that but he was listed at 6'6 for the longest time, and even the title of the press release from the 67's says 6'6 Tyler Hill joins the 67's.

Judging by some of the articles though there's no chance he plays forward for the Giants. One even penciled him as their #1 D if he joins the team.

I heard there were tons of attitude problems/character issues when it came to that kid.

Yeah, I think it would be giving up way too early to try converting him to forward. He does need the year in junior again to sort himself out and try to get back on track, but he's much more useful in our system as a defenseman than as some kind of depth forward. He may never have the ideal amount of hockey sense to be a really *good* defenseman, but I'm optimistic that he can learn and progress as a blueliner in Vancouver, and then bring some new hope to the pros next year.

Why do you think he can't make it as a D-man in the NHL on a contending team?

I'm working on a series of articles evaluating the Montreal Canadiens' draft picks, and in reviewing Reway, based on the opinion of a few Q scouts (whom you'll find out about when my article releases ) is even though he is small, like we've heard so many times before, he's got some sick hands and speed.

That attitude shift Reway did worked wonders for him, and I personally think if former prospect Archambault did the same thing and got his attitude/act in check he may have been something decent.

Also in speaking to a few euro scouts, Lehkonen & DLR are looking to be better picks then most give credit for. Now I know the majority here were thrilled with Lehkonen (as was I) but there were some nay sayers as always. That piece should be out later this week - in the mean time though I evaluated the first round pick McCarron.

http://thehockeyguys.net/montreal-ca...-a-tall-order/

I personally wanted Burakovsky, and a few others I know of were crossing their fingers for Zykov, but I am liking more and more what I keep hearing about McCarron. The Hunter brothers know where to find talent, and know how to develop it, if Domi & Horvat go back to the OHL, I'm giddy at the thought of a line combo Horvat-Domi-McCarron.

Well the Habs have McCarron and he's real talent, perhaps if Hill shows promise with the 67's, Bergevin might draft him with a late round pick this season. It certainly could make a huge line having Crisp @ Center - McCarron @ RW - Hill @ LW in two yrs. time playing in Hamilton for a couple of months. Crisp being the lightweight at 6'4" and 225 lbs., McCarron at 6'5" and 235 lbs., Hill at 6'6" and 230 lbs. not many lines in the history of hockey with those dimensions I'm pretty sure. They all seem to know how to play a hard brand of hockey and Hill has his background in Lacrosse with some good talent playing that. When I look at a team like Buffalo that will boast Tyler Myers @ 6'8" , Risto Ruotsalainen at 6'4" and Nikita Zadorov @ 6'5", the Habs need for big bodied forwards that can play and wear down defencemen like them, will be necessary in the playoffs.

Dustin Walsh

Did I miss a signing, or did the Habs let Dustin Walsh go unsigned at the August 15th deadline?
