Yeah, that's what I hate most about these boards. People go around spreading rumours about our players 'officially' turning into monsters when in fact, we're far from sure which player it is on the picture.

Looks like Chara, to me. I could see HIM turning into a monster!

I can tell you, you can be a good hockey player without 7-8% body fat, it's not a necessity, but I can also tell you the majority of those guys are in the same ''ripped'' mode as PK. There's really nothing impressive or out of this world about PK's body. He's just in great shape. Maybe it's because I work in the industry, so I'm not as easily impressed as others. But I see guys like him all the time.

This is not a knock on PK. He's in terrific shape.
As for him being above every one else, I'm not so sure.
I don't work in the same industry as you, but I do spend a lot of time on bb forum, so my eyes might be skewed.

You guys are saying he is in the top 3% for professional athletes, in terms of body fat to lean muscle, correct?

That's ridiculous. I don't know if he's in the top 50%. This is not some ridiculous physique people, most pro athletes look like this, or better. I'm not saying he looks like garbage, but if he walked around with a shirt off at the beach, I don't think people would notice him for his body (say we're in Spain so that nobody notices he's an NHL all-star lol)

Wow he looks like Bobby Hull did in his hay day. He's going to be awesome for you guys so feel lucky. I wonder if Marchand will still try and fight him lol.

PS: I read somewhere Marchy and Subban are good friends IRL, is that true does anyone know?

I totally agree. My fear will be injuries. I played with a guy that was ripped and as soon as he torn a ligament he was out multiple stretches of time.

How can anyone be friends with Marchand? Centipede lovers, perhaps?

I would take Patrick Kane over Subban any day of the week (Subban is a monster and I consider him a top 10 D in this league.)

PK has a good frame and nice height for that body. Its not like Desharnais who is so short that he doesnt have a six-pack; just a four-pack...

Yeah figured that as well , Stamkos/Subban I knew were good friends , wasn't sure about the Marchand connection until you reminded me.

You can teach defense you can't teach the offensive skill/talent and natural agility that this kid possesses , he's going to be a good one.

Subban's going to be even more of a monster this season than we've seen before. I can just see him running over guys as they enter the zone.

If youd like to see a very inshape physique with low body fat to compare to.....Look at an unflexed Jagr.
To be fair, Jagr is flexing in that photograph. He's doing the cool "I swear I'm not flexing" flex, but he's still flexing. He does have a better physique, and that is at around 40. These are professional athletes, not some average joes. That's why PK isn't impressive. On the street, he may be a little more impressive, but he isn't a monster. That's silly. Most players look like that or better.

No I'm not saying he's in the top 3% of athletes, someone else did.
But I don't think this means anything. We should define what an athlete is. Are the 300lbs line players in Football athletes? So really, I don't really care where he ranks, 3-50-75% of all athletes, don't give a crap about it.

PK is in great shape, but there's nothing really impressive.

This thread went from informative to somewhat gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) to really stupid .

This was more or less my point. I was just pointing out how silly it is to say he is in the top-3 percentage of all athletes worldwide, I mean, athlete also talks about gymrats, all of which look better than PK (at least pro bodybuilders anyway)

I think ripped is the wrong term. He looks jacked. He's still got time to trim up a bit. He's in great shape. I don't know why a semantic argument over what "ripped" is has taken place here. He's got one of the better builds in the league imo, and he has the mentality/work ethic and focus on the target areas that translate to his game, power skating ect.

We're lucky to have this guy.
