We've signed Christian Hanson to a 2-way deal. The Wolves are going to have a very decent looking roster.

A big centre (6'4, 230). Career AHL type, but has a solid all round game and can produce offensively if he has good wingers. I haven't seen much of him since he left the Leafs organisation, not terrible hands, works and gets in front of the net.

I'd imagine he'll be the #2C, after Aucoin. If we aren't going to be using Jaškin as a LW, then we might see a Veilleux-Hanson-Jaškin line.

I like this signing. like this guy. as Alklha I haven't watched him since his Leafs days but he is a very likeable, hard-working, big guy. if we wouldn't be so damn deep I could imagine he could be a call-up for a few games and prove he can be a 4th liner in the NHL but he better stays in the A if he is with us.

Allen had a 23 save shutout in his first and only start of the preseason for the Wolves. Will be interesting to see if he can take the starting job.

Who is his competition? Binnington?

Matt Climie, probably one of the top AHL goalies at age 30. Chicago plays to win, they aren't really in it for development. So they are going to play who ever is playing better.

With as good as his AHL numbers are I'm surprised he didn't get a shot with an NHL team.

He's gotten a couple games up there, but I think the main issue with him was just being on the wrong team at the wrong time and playing bad when he needed to play good, and playing great when it didn't really matter. He's already 30 too, took him awhile to get going.

The Wolves website is terrible, not even a preliminary roster. But Vancouver did assign Kassian, Ebbett, Tanev, Sauve, and Joslin, among others. There's a decently loaded roster.

Their site said Eddie lack was assigned too, but I thought he was the backup to Luongo?

Canucks aren't affiliated with the Wolves anymore are they? I think it's the Utica Comets.

The wolves site says the canucks recently assigned 23 players. I'm not an expert in this matter so I'm not sure. The canucks forum does say the comets are their AHL affiliate.

EDIT-From a quick google search, it seem the wolves are only affiliated with the blues. But then where does Climie fit in? He's not a blue is he?

They have their own AHL team, the Utica Comets, we just share an ECHL team with Vancouver.

The Wolves have a pretty active forum too guys, if you want to join up. wolfkeeper.org

I asked about the situation, and the guy who answered me seems to think Allen will get the #1 job. Take it for what you will.

Well it was on the recent stories column, so I get a little bit of slack right?

Anyway, does anyone know if Cody Beach is going to play top-6 AHL minutes? I assume not, but who else fits in?

Seriously, seriously doubt it. He has Jaskin and Rattie ahead of him, not to mention a bunch of the top AHLers that the Blues/Wolves have.

If Allen was good enough to play with us last season and almost make the team, then he is plenty good enough to beat Climie. The season before last, Lack got the majority of the starts because he was playing better. Chicago just play whoever is playing better, no politics are involved. If Allen can beat out Climie, then we have problems.

If he plays like he did in the NHL last year, he should have an incredible year.

I'm excited to see how Jaskin and Rattie take to the AHL game.

I know Jaskin will do fine, based on his play in the preseason and in his 2 game NHL stint, he'll do fine.

It's Rattie I'm a bit worried about.

I kind of agree, he seems like he could be such a boom or bust guy... Very excited to see what he can do.

Well let's not worry about Rattie just yet in his rookie year of pro hockey.
