The First Rangers/Blue Jackets Home Game

Thursday, December 12th is the first Rangers/Blue Jackets game at MSG. It's going to be a sort of home coming for many players that were once Rangers.

Dubinsky
Gaborik
Anisimov
Tyutin
Erixon

Kinda crazy how many players on that team were once Rangers. This is a top game on my list of games to look forward to next season. Imagine a Rangers/Jackets playoff series.

What kind of feel will the Rangers and Jackets games have? Is it going to be a new rivalry spawned? Or will there be too much respect between former team mates for that to really happen?

Edit: Prospal is a UFA.

Prospal still unsigned UFA

We have quite the Columbus lineup too:
Nash
Moore
Brassard
Dorsett
Stralman

And the ghost of Nikolay Zherdev still hauntingly walks the back aisles of MSG wondering why Torts was yelling at him constantly...
One question - will Kerby Rychel ever get to see NHL ice?
If we still would have gotten the pick I would´ve loved to have seen Michael McCarron, Jacob de la Rose or Marko Daňo wearing true blue...

Chances are the Blue Jacks will have more motivation at Madision Square Garden. I'm sure Dubinsky, Arty and Co. will come out flying. And since both teams are in the same conference, who wins matters more now. The Rangers will need to take this game seriously--Columbus won't be an easy team to beat.

Pretty much.

I can see those players we traded having big games since they will be back our building for the first time since. Dubi, hat trick, bank on it.

But the same will can be said for the players who were Jackets when they first play their first game back at their old building.

Interesting. Depending on which of Gabby / Nash have the better year, all in all. Pretty close exchange of players.

Unless Brasser is really as good as he was in the playoffs last year. Then the Rangers are up. Still have to wait and see.

Also love that Dorsett can play and fight. Like to see what he does in a fully healthy season. He could be THE MAN

I hope the crowd gives these guys a warm reception...Dubi, Artie and Gabby certainly deserve it for their service to the team the last several years.

And then I hope we crush them.

Would not be at all surprised if Gabby picked up a hat trick and Dubi picked up a Gordie Howe HT.

Nope. Not one of the former Rangers mean as much to the Rangers as Nash did to the Jwckets.

Now that I look at it, I'm confident every player on the left is a superior version of their competitor on the right. The closest one is Brass-Artie

Exactly how I feel, minus Anisimov. I never really liked him. I liked his personality, though.

Not arguing that, but I wasn't making that comparison either. Emotions will be high for all those players playing in their old building vs their old team.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I do miss Tyutin though. He was a nice steady player who always showed up to play. I was a Dubinsky fan too, but he priced himself out with that 4+million contract. Unfortunately he seemed to regress on a better club.

He'll instantly become my favorite non-ranger ever. Especially his first game against the NYR @ MSG. Holy moly...

Ranger fans will scream bloody murder calling for Anisimov's head, further exemplifying a level of hypocrisy and that old adage that we only root for laundry.

And claim that that would never happen if they had Colton Orr and demand that Haley be put in the lineup post haste.

That would mean Dubinsky would need to score a goal. He won't.
