I find it funny that Daly comes out and says if what Alfie said is true that it would be circumvention, yet they have no intention of doing an investigation.

Every time Melynk talks I have trouble believing that he's a millionaire.

Souray Injured, Ducks sign Fistric

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...ducks/2678027/

Looks like Souray had surgery and hasn't recovered. Glad to see Fistric found a home, and 900K to boot. Good for him.

Cheers,
gpearson1968.

Solid No.7 guy. I'd take him over Potter personally, but not a lot of space on the Oilers right now. Especially with the new emphasis on puck-moving and speed.

Doesn't hurt us a whole lot. Just another guy we don't have to decide over for the 3rd pairing.

Just another guy that will crush Hall when we play the Ducks what.....8 times.

Good for Fistric though. Always glad to see a local area product get his chances in the NHL.

It's simple when Fistric is on the ice, just make sure there is another oiler 2 feet next to Hall. Hall stops 3 feet before blueline, passing to whoever and Fistric ends up hitting nothing. Results in a scoring chance, everyone wins.

Good signing for Ducks.

I would rather have Fistric then Potter

I'd expect having either one of them in the lineup will be bad for Anaheim.

Good deal for the Oilers.

Really caught me off guard

http://www.edmontonsun.com/2013/08/2...e-rugby-canada

Rugby Canada announced the former Toronto Maple Leafs president and general manager as the newest appointee to its Board of Directors on Tuesday.

“I am excited and honoured to join Rugby Canada’s Board of Directors and to help grow the game of rugby in Canada,” Burke said.

The summer of silence is over. Roberto Luongo's first interview since the Schneider trade tonight/tomorrow on Sportscentre (6et) #TSN

James Duthie ‏@tsnjamesduthie 7m
Luongo will report to Canucks training camp, and says he is extremely motivated, but remains uncertain about his future in Van.

James Duthie ‏@tsnjamesduthie 7m
Luongo: "I had moved on from Vancouver and was ready to start fresh somewhere else...like a divorce...except she wanted me back."

James Duthie ‏@tsnjamesduthie 5m
Luongo also talks about breaking down after not being dealt at deadline and "blacking out" when he learned VAN had traded Schneider.

Luongo also reveals that in May he had serious talks with the NHLPA about the possibility of voiding his deal and walking away from 40m.

Lynda Steele ‏@CTVLyndaSteele now
@strombone1 Luongo speaks out exclusively to @tsnjamesduthie says, "It felt like a divorce and I moved on, problem is - she wanted me back."

I love this guy, I'm going to buy an Oiler jersey and get his name on the back.

I wouldn't go that far but his candor is definitely refreshing, I like him as both a personality and player.

It's not so much his candidness as his professionalism.

A lesser person would, say, run to Mark Spector and cast wild aspersions.

Yeah, Fistric isn't much of a player, certainly shouldn't be considered NHL calibre, and was plain ****** in either Dallas or here. Not sure why the demand. This is not a guy that makes your hockey club better in any pairing.

Can't say he even bothered to bring much of the physical play here either. tbh you hardly noticed him on the ice except for the braincramps.

I'm interested to see how that new goalie equipment size restriction rule is going to affect Dubnyk.

I think the bigger goalies are going to be more susceptible to the 5-hole goals now that the pads are being enforced to be shorter.

I have absolutely no idea, and am certainly no goalie expert. However, being a big goalie, Dubnyk has probably had players shooting 5-hole on him his entire career.

How much of a difference are we talking here?

How is the pad restriction going to affect Crawford seeing as how he already has a terrible glove hand? ;-)

Thought I'd share this highlight video of Datsyuk's 2012-2013 season I just found on YouTube. Ridiculous that he has enough highlights in one season to define any other player's career. Easily my favorite player in the NHL right now.

Agreed. Niemi is a much better goaltender and they let him walk for nothing after their 2010 championship.

I thought their hands were tied when they effed up all those QO's and had to overpay guys like Versteeg and Hammer to keep em?
