and, of course, Franson holding out gives us the perfect chance to give Rielly a 9gm tryout.

This type of talk only appears when certain type of millionares/rich people talk. They certainly want that money and when they do they become even more arrogant. Kadri already has money.

I like Kadri as a moving hockey player when skating on the ice. Not so much as a human being. He is a good ice hockey player with his stick.
cocky players are the only type that can succeed long-term in this hockey-crazed market

Agreed Kadri is needed much more at seasons start....I believe Rielly would play 100% if he has not signed.

With Liles and Rielly around, it really makes Franson's positioning and not choosing arbitration more than a little odd. He must have known what the Leafs thought of him and what kind of contract they wanted to give him so why not take the guaranteed raise. Why in the world did he think he could squeeze a home run contract out of the Leafs? For Kadri, it's reasonable to assume he might get more on a hold out due to the organizational depth at center, but with Franson, not only do the Leafs have a more than capable vet in Liles but a potential super rookie in Rielly. He'll, Rielly is probably better than Franson now.
