Here's a Stolarz highlight from the shootout in today's USA vs Finland game.

http://www.fasthockey.com/watch/?v=Y...w#.UgP_7ZLVC-0

Robs Teuvo Teravainen (Hawks 1st round pick 2012).

Gives you a glimpse of just how big and athletic he is.

The Flyers/Caps prospect game will be on September 9th at 3PM at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

Not sure if it will be streamed on the Flyers website like last year?

Hopefully it will streamed with something better than a Dollartree kids collectable throw away backup camera that was mounted 9 blocks away from the ice surface like it was last year.

That is the expectation. There is information about the Rookie Game in the sticky with the schedules, too.

Agreed. There's no screaming need to have Laughton in the line-up considering how set they already are.

A Phantoms' signing...

http://www.phantomshockey.com/pages/...s/20130820.asp

Quote:
The Adirondack Phantoms have announced the addition of big defenseman Steven Delisle who joins the team on an AHL contract.

Steven Delisle is a 6-6, 210 pound right-handed shooter from Levis, Quebec. The 23-year-old has played in 10 career games in the AHL and 99 games in the ECHL in his two previous professional seasons.

Last year, he appeared in four games with the Connecticut Whale registering two assists and six penalty minutes. He spent most of the campaign with their ECHL affiliate in Greenville, SC where he played in 61 games scoring four goals and 16 assists for 20 points with 85 penalty minutes.

In 2011-12, he played in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons for six games recording zero points while also seeing action in 38 games with the ECHL Chicago Express with one goal and three assists for four points. He also spent six games with the Fort Wayne Komets, then of the CHL, in the 2010-11 season.

Delisle has been part of two major trades between the Blue Jackets and Rangers organizations.

On July 23, 2012, Steven Delisle was traded by Columbus to the New York Rangers along with Rick Nash in exchange for Brandon Dubinski, Artem Anisimov and Tim Erixon.

Sweet they signed the ECHL version of Lauridsen when they don't have an ECHL affiliate.

Per Bill Meltzer...

Quote:
* According to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, the Flyers have signed forward Eric Wellwood to a minor league contract while he recovers from the serious leg tendon injuries he suffered late last season with the Phantoms. Holmgren said the minor-league deal arrangement is just "for the time being."

When Wellwood is fully recovered, he is eligible to sign a new NHL contract with the Flyers, who continue to hold his NHL signing rights after tendering him a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent this summer.

The arrangement is beneficial for both sides.

Because of Wellwood's injury status, the Flyers could not assign him to the AHL if he were signed to a new NHL contract before he's ready to be medically cleared. This would have been problematic for the Flyers, who are currently over the salary cap during the summer. Wellwood would have had to be carried on the NHL roster and his contract would have counted all season against the 50-contract limit even if he was placed on the long-term injured reserve list when eligible right before opening night (which also would have given the team some temporary cap space).

In Wellwood's case, he at least has the security of a contract in hand with the organization while working toward his return to the ice. He would have been on a two-way NHL contract, anyway, and almost certainly would have been assigned to play for the Phantoms once he's medically allowed to play. Once he's healthy and ready to play, he can get a new NHL deal with the Flyers.

* Holmgren also provided an update on the status of unsigned restricted free agent Brandon Manning. Said Holmgren, "We are still working on Brandon but certainly expect to have him signed soon."

Flyers will be using Greenville as their unofficial ECHL affiliate next season.

The Phantoms don't come to St. John's - I figured ALL the teams would play each other at least twice. That sucks balls.

Moving to USA tomorrow, exicted to play for @YtownPhantoms this year!
Don't know if this was covered anywhere else, but looks like Larsson is moving to NA this year.

I'm excited to see what he can do. It was reported during camp that he wanted to come over as soon as possible to be closer to the organization's development group. I just figured he would of gone the college route considering his age but jumping to the AHL is better IMO (though with the depth the team suddenly has on the back end he may have to play some games in the ECHL). By all reports the NA style fits his game better so I think this is a good move for his career.

He's going to be playing in the USHL this upcoming season not the AHL or ECHL.

The team he's playing for is the Youngstown Phantoms not the Adirondack Phantoms, I'm guessing that's where the confusion is coming from.

Yes it was, I saw Phantoms and just assumed ADK. Should've paid better attention.

The QMJHL preseason started a few days ago. Rimouski's played four games so far, Morin's played in two of them & recorded an assist.

He's also been wearing an A but important to note that they've been split squads.

1. Scott Laughton (19, F, OHL)

"Didn't look out of place in five game NHL stint"

2. Samuel Morin ( 18, D, QMJHL)

"Shutdown defender, working on offense"

3. Robert Hagg (18, D, SWE)

"Gifted defender skates with ease, two way game"

4. Brandon Manning (23, D, AHL)

"Another good year on a bad Phantoms game"

5. Shayne Gostisbehere (20, D, ECAC)

"Offense minded player who can get nasty"

6. Anthony Stolarz ( 19, G, OHL)

"Handled bulk of long playoff run for Knights"

7. Tye McGinn (23, F, AHL)

"Great NHL debut turned into decent AHL season"

8. Marcel Noebels (21, F, AHL)

"Offense carried over to AHL from ECHL"

9. Nick Cousins (20, F, OHL)

"Gritty, hardnosed, undersized player"

10. Nick Luukko (21, D, HE)

"Came back strong after abdominal injury"
Here's our top 10 prospects according to The Hockey News. I have no clue what they see in Nick Luukko? I don't agree with Manning being in the top 10 but Corey Pronman had him in there as well so they aren't the only ones on that front.
