Considering that Subban was picked to play for Canada twice in the WJC and then two more times at the WC (including last year immediately after Montreal was eliminated) I can't see them having anything against him.

My prediction, tried to get the lines roughly what I think they'd be. Thoughts?

Giroux Crosby Nash
Stamkos Toews Tavares
Duchene Bergeron Richards
Perry Getzlaf E. Staal
Couture Sharp

Weber Pietrangelo
Keith Seabrook
Doughty Letang
Hamhuis Subban

Price
Luongo
Crawford

I have to say I am abnormally excited about the press conference today. Does anyone know who is talking? Is it just coaches and officials or players too like Sid?

I am watching now. You will likely be disappointed. Just management talking blah, blah, blah...

...AND it is being covered by 3 different networks on 6 different channels. We are such a silly country some times.

I was thinking same thing at first. I guess this is our off season hockey fix.

Babcock said they'll be a younger group. Not entirely sure what to make of that, but perhaps we will see a decent amount of Hall/Duchene/Couture/Eberle's

Kevin Lowe is the only one.

It is kind of weird to see the guy who ran the Oilers into the ground having such a large role with Hockey Canada though.

Poor Luongo - the reporters are all asking him questions about Vancouver.

He's not an Oiler.

I'm not sure getting fired by the Oilers will make him biased towards their players either.

Spector's such a tool.

Like, they're all tools for just harping on the Luongo thing, but Spector went pretty next level by actually asking completely unrelated players about it.

Saw a photo of Patrice Bergeron at the presser and it made me smile

I wish I could get TSN/CBC here in Mass.

Maybe that gets rid of Sharp but St. Louis still has a good chance IMO

Whomever asked Sidney that question wins the "worst question" award. Can't believe he asked him that

It's really nice to see Duthie, Ferraro, Dreger, and MacKenzie together for a panel again after the last couple of months...brought a tear to my eye

More likely, it means that the likes of Stamkos, Tavares, Giroux are locks to make the team this time around. The players you mentioned are on the bubble IMO.

TSN panel just talked about their opinion on locks/favourites for the team

Goal
Lock - None
Favourite - Luongo (they also mentioned Price as the backup and I didn't hear who the #3 is)

Defense
Lock - Doughty, Weber, Keith
Favourite - Letang, Pietrangelo, Bouwemeester, Subban
They also mentioned Hamhuis

Forwards
Lock - Staal, Nash, Crosby, Toews, Getzlaf, Giroux, Tavares, Stamkos, Bergeron
Favourite - Perry, St. Louis
They also mentioned Carter and Richards
Dreger mentioned Lucic

All I got from that presser is that it will take me at least 6 months to teach the boneheads at TSN (Bob Mackenzie) how to properly pronounce Sochi.
