No big deal Habs beat Pens 8-0?

I keep seeing that people are saying beating the Penguins 8-0 was only because the Penguins are a junior team and can't compete so we shouldn't put too much stock in it.

in their last 4 games Pittsburgh

beat New Jersey
lost in the last few minutes of the game to Boston
got smoked by Montreal
beat Philadelphia

and the game before that, the Laffs only beat them 5-0

Seems like this Pittsburgh team is playing well lately, maybe they had a bad game but give credit to the Habs for dismantling them.

The habs didn't dominate the game 5 on 5 as much as the score indicates, but our PP looked absolutely perfect against the pens.

I agree with ya though, anytime you beat a team 8-0, I don't care how crappy the opposing team was, your team played well.

They must have taken the Habs too lightly.

If it's so easy to beat the Pens 8-0, why aren't all the other teams in the league doing it?

I think they greatly underestimated the Habs special units. After a while the score was so out of reach, because of the PP, they just stopped trying.

It is not a big deal.

As soon as the Habs were leading 3-0 , the pens simply stopped playing and they looked like a total joke on the ice.A team like Ottawa , Colorado , Vancouver or these kind of elite clubs would have tried to come back but not the Pens.Their morale is too low and they already know that they won't make the playoffs so they simply gave up and they took the rest of the game off.

A victory of 5-0 against a team like the 3 that i have mentionned above would have been more of an accomplishement imo.

After the Habs 3rd goal, the pens stopped playing.

But what amazed me is that the Habs didn't. Even though they were winning big time, they played the whole 60 minutes as if it was 0-0.
