Stastny for Miller

Josh Rimer ‏@JoshRimerHockey 33s
Been told not to NOT be surprised if the Avalanche deal Paul Stastny to Buffalo for Ryan Miller. Stastny is headed to UFA in summer........

It does make sense in a few ways.

Less so for Colorado, but I can see it happening.

But needs a new change of scenery to get back his scoring touch. Miller wants to be closer to West Coast. Win, Win.

Huh, I guess value wise it's alright. I never thought Col would be looking for a G though, I thought they were content with Varly.

Makes no sense. Colorado needs defense.

Not sure this is a trade that makes much sense. Avs have a young starter in Varlamov and the Sabres have at least 4 promising young centers (Hodgens, Ennis, Grig and Girg).

It could be more than just a one-for-one deal.

Big black eye for Roy if he does that.

Absolutely not what the Avs should do.

I just pray that this is not true.

Wasting a 1st for Varlamov and than giving up Stastny for a 34 year old with a somewhat questionable attitude?

I just hope this is not true....

how legit is this guy? I suppose it depends on how desperate Buffalo is to trade Miller. It's not the dumbest trade proposal ever, but still why?

I don't think there's any better way for Patrick Roy to make himself to look like a completely incompetent jackass that to spend all summer talking up Staz and Varly as key pieces of our core that he expects big things from this year.

He's legit, I remember reading his tweets during the lockout and such. I think he was one of the first to tweet Dallas Eakins/Ralph Krueger story as well.

Rimer's called some things ahead of time (The Krueger firing for instance) and been off on others. Now, on one hand, this might all be piggy-backing off an Eklund rumor from earlier in the day. On the other, Adrian Dater didn't shoot it down, either.

(2) so fair warning to those who ask about it.

Would be awful for Colorado.

Then again, I haven't thought their front office has been good for the past few years, and I still am not convinced it is in the right hands currently.

Gonna be laughable if they make this move, IMO. They need a d-man.

He is, don't buy anything about Miller to Colorado.

Ehrhoff on the other hand is a player I am very interested in.

How is dater not shooting it down on a different hand than piggybacking off of eklund's rumor? If there was any chance of this being true dater would be too busy stuck in an elevator to comment on it.

Ehrhoff would take more than Stastny though but that's a whole different discussion.

This time of year is notorious for being dead. You should have enjoyed some of those trades from before. There usually isn't action like there was after the season.

But my team wasn't involved in any big trades

Makes zero sense for the Avs. Roy stated last week Varly was his guy and Miller is too expensive to be a backup.
