Taylor Beck

He had a good showing last year with all the injuries. Will he start up on the big team? Should he?

Personally, I think he could, but what may be best for his development is sending him down until someone gets hurt so he doesn't get scratched, telling him this is his shot, and playing him in a top six role immediately. If he stayed up, he'd likely be wasted as a bottom 6 guy, so I say send him down barring an incredible camp, light a fire under him, then call him up as soon as he'd be a top 6 guy.

He has nothing to gain from playing in the AHL, imho.

He was the one callup that stood out to me last season as "ready". This guy is looking like a great pick. He needs to be in a top 6 role though I believe so he may start in Milwaukee

He's gotta play with skilled linemates to be truly effective. Kid's got a wicked release.

I think Beck needs a little more strength and speed to be an NHL player. He can lift some more weights in the AHL until January.

This. Totally agree. Very pleasant surprise and I think if he spends a lot of time in Milwaukee, for whatever reason, it'll be a shame. Not because of the "I'm impatient, just let him play" point of view, but because I think he proved he can definitely contribute and add productivity for us. Of course, with our barrage of bottom 6 players, he likely needs a top 6 spot like you said, and I don't know if that's a step we want to take right now.

We have to give Beck a chance in the big leagues this year. This guy looked great last season, and looked fully ready to play in the NHL.

Beck has been great on our bottom line. That take away from Sid to Nystrom was awesome.

Does he play LW or RW? Or both wings?

He has been playing LW but he can play both side. He takes faceoffs as well when Gaustad gets booted.

Really feel like he has gotten a semi raw deal this year. Just about the time it looked like it was starting to come together he gets hurt, and then they would never put him back out there.

Really feel like the kid should of had way more playing time this season than he has had. Then again, this is probably why I'm not an NHL coach ( among other reasons)
