Fifth Element is the best sci-fi movie ever made in my opinion.

Whoa whoa, let's not get crazy here. I mean, it's got Gary Oldman and all, but...

I'm gonna go with Aliens.

The movie is a piece of art through and through. Aliens doesn't come to its knees in terms of vision and style.

Also I'm a big Aliens fan.

Wow big claims. Fair enough. I agree that's it's underrated but I disagree that it's the best.

I gotta agree with those two choices! I own a copy of Usual Suspects and The Fellowing is a favorite of mine too.

I haven't seen Dark City because I'm scared it'll be scary. Yes I know, I'm a big ****ing chicken.

The other three movies are fantastic. Some of my favorite movies.

It was incredibly boring. I was much younger when I saw it, and even then I couldn't get past the cardboard characters and lame-looking aliens.

Some better sci fi movies: Alien, Aliens; Terminator, Terminator 2, Hunger Games; Star Wars Episodes 4 and 5; Predators; Star Trek 2,4,8,11; The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded; Inception; District 9; Planet of the Apes; Rise of the Planet of the Apes;

Also, of the non-action sort:

Time Traveller's Wife, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; Never Let me Go; Blade Runner; Back to the Future;

Basically, if it's worth watching, it's better than Fifth Element.

I know a few guys who have that terrible disease. They overvalue anything coming out of France/Europe and undervalue anything coming out of the States.

If I ever hear of a way to treat that, I'll let you know.

We're talking about Sci-Fi movies in here - Sweet. I spend most of my movie time watching dramas, but I certainly don't limit myself to other genres.

Tops for me in Sc-Fi are: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, Alien, and Star Wars. The Matrix gets an honourable mention. Lots of other good ones out there too. Overall, 2001 stands out as my favourite though.

Just saw a documentary call The Act of Killing...

Some human being are the sickest and ugliest thing this universe ever created and this documentary is the proof of that.
