Please please lets not make that huge mistake again. sure invite some prospects to the main camp, but not 60 like last year or was it 2 years ago. It took 5-6 preseason games to trim down to the real preseason team.
I say the real team 24 players, plus a good look see at 1 goalie, 4 dmen, 5 forwards, and 2 coaches special picks. thats 12 prospects in all. This is for the main camp not the rookie camp. The rookie camp is for the rookies, to let them see the real NHL, give them something to shoot for. A chance to strut their stuff in front of the all Habs management.

BTW, our fowards group without Collberg is looking not so spectacular! ;p
Well the forward group looks poor without Lehkonen, Collberg, De La Rose, and MacMillan. It should, since they are some of our better forward prospects.

If you also keep in mind that Galchenyuk and Gallagher are younger than most players attending, it's not that bad

Yeah that's the serious problem with our prospect pool. You take away our best prospects it doesn't look too good.

Unlike other teams when you take away their best prospects, their pool just gets better.

MB has to address that.

It's so funny that some posters on here almost seem to think that now the Gallys aren't technically prospects anymore, it's like they're not Habs property anymore either, hahaha.

'Now that Gallagher and Galchenyuk have graduated our prospect pool looks thin', hahaha.

I just think people seem to look at our prospect pool wholly independent of the young players we have that our actually on the team.

Our prospect pool PLUS our young emerging core means we're in very good shape.

Well Leblanc "could" be considered NHL camp invitee so they'd like to concentrate on other players. Strange but Leblanc might seem to have the same status than Dumont....I obviously wouldn't put him at that level, he "clearly" deserve his AHL Status....Unless something else is happening...though everytime we think something is happening...nothing is.

Any word on the Canadiens rookie tournament roster?

Just wondering if anyone has heard or seen the Habs roster and or schedule for this?
Anything at all from anyone on this?

Great, thanks. I skimmed through and couldn't find anything. Nice to only have one D-man under 6' on the roster.

Would McCarron be our heaviest player on the big team?

237lb, holy crap. Thats litterally two Desharnais strapped together.

I didn't remember Pateryn being so big (6'2 222lb), he could turn out to be a decent depth or even no5-6 defensemen.

Indeed. If Galchenyuk and Gallagher were still in the minors they'd be super hopeful

Well at this stage, an additional 13lbs is only 5% of his weight. He may get there, for sure, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it, tbh. And guys like Pronger were fine at around 220.

McCarron weight is crazy. It's hard to believe he isn't fat one way or the other. 18 years old kids with this kind weight are very, very rare. If he ends up making the NHL he'll be one of the biggest player around.

The thing with Leblanc is that he has been worst than Pateryn last season, and Pateryn got called up, he his also one year older than Leblanc. But yeah he could have the same status as Dumont... still Leblanc was invited at the summer camp and Dumont wasn't, right?

Pronger is an exception and not the norm. I would think a better comparison is either Tyler Myers or Chara. Pronger was an offensive dynamo and all elbows lol

Good ol' Pronger physics!

Anyway, I'm sure Tinordi will gain a little bit of muscle over the next 1-2 years. He'll be fine.

That was 2 years ago. Very bad idea indeed.

But my understanding is that they are using big market teams (Habs, Leafs etc.) in order to boost interest in non-traditional markets. So the Habs had a crazy pre-season schedule. Like 7 games in 8 days or so.

ok so let's do the math:

DD + DD = DDDD

2xDD = DDDD

So let's now refer to McCarron as 2xDD

No, he'd be second to Murray who's 245.

On a sidenote, anyone know why Nygren is listed on the habs main website ?

Along with Bozon, Collberg, Fournier, Tarnasky, St. Pierre, Hudon and Condon ?

I'm pretty impressed by the save percentage of Micheal Condon at every level he had play last year. Is anybody know him a bit? Is there a chance he translates that at the next level (AHL), somehow? Does he have a chance of reaching the NHL at some point?
