OT - Chistov to Boston

for a 3rd round pick.

Also, Anaheim traded Fedoruk to Philly for a 4th round pick. And also aquired George Parros from Colorado for a 2ND ROUND PICK??? Is Burke on crack?

What? Haven't you heard? 2007 draft picks are the latest crazy sweeping GMs offices around the NHL. Remember, 'Gotta Collect 'Em All'. Burke appears to have made a good start to his collection.

If Parros is worth a 2nd rounder, shouldn't we think Murray could be worth 3 1st rounders.....

Great move by Gigučre, picking up a guy via waivers, that wasn't good enough to play regularly in a struggling Avalanche lineup than then be had for a 2nd rounder....

As far as Burke is concerned, well I have no idea what he's thinking....Chistov to Boston, might come and haunt him as well....

I don't think that Chistov will hunt anybody. considering he was a healthy scratch for 15 out of 16 games

Chistov for a 3rd is a good gamble.

Anaheim has so much talented youth on their team that's why he was scratched so many times.

He could work out really well for Boston seeing as how they're rebuilding.

Chistov, Fedoruk and a 2nd for Parros, a 3rd and a 4th

Damn, bad deal for Anaheim...sure they have depht and they are winning, but it doens't look like a good deal, mainly because of the 2nd round for Parros.

Boston might have the best end of the deal. Chistov has the potential to be a good players. I don't think he will ever be an impact player, but on a bad Boston team, he could blossom.

Burke is no dummy, he just cleared $800k in cap space net with these trades.

I bet you he has something else up his sleeve. Rumours are he is going after Jovanoski.

I'd have to agree with Burke being a hell of a GM. He's planning something no doubt, that Parros move doesn't make sense otherwise. Look what he did with Anaheim in his limited time as there GM, he's one of the best out there. All it takes is a look at his defence and the standings to see that.

If he's planning something else, why did he trade a 2nd round pick for Parros? He should have kept the pick, which as a higher value...

Anaheim--best team in the west
Boston--not so much in the east

Chistov couldn't crack Anaheim's lineup because there were plenty of young forwards ahead of him.

Boston is in a different situation.

Wow, Boston gets ripped off...Chistov isn't worth a 3rd rounder! Burke took advantage of the fact that Boston is desperate to make a move.

Who knows? I haven't seen him play for a while. I was really impressed by his game during the Ana-NJ final a couple of years ago. Keep in mind he is young has Perezhogin and Komisarek... there is still room for him to progress. Afinogenov took time to get quality minutes. I am not that sure Boston made a bad move there... not at all.

I guarantee you're saying that because you're a Canadiens fan. If the Habs landed him you'd be saying how great Gainey is. Very predictable response from a Habs fan.

He was okay in that playoff run...Since then, not so much. Very poor numbers in Russia. He's worse than Perezhogin who right now is not worth much more than a 3rd (right now, at least)

Not at all. Chistov really isn't worth a 3rd rounder...Pierre McGuire was just on the radio an hour ago saying the same thing!

and parros is worth a 2nd? boston is willing to take a chance, besides if they continue to lose, they will get many more 3rd round picks.

Haha, good point, guess I made that post in haste... Still I find it hard to believe there isn't some other reason that Burke would make a move like that that otherwise looks pretty ridiculous.

He did it because they needed a fighter...Why he gave a 2nd for him I don't know...But all the trades together end looking decent for Anaheim.

I'd probably take a gamble on Chistov for a 3rd. He wouldn't have a spot on the Habs right now, but with a team like Boston he can fill an important 3rd line role.
