Eller had 30 points in 46 games while barely getting any PP minutes and playing on the 3rd line.

If the third line consists of Galchenyuk-Eller-*****, it is definitely possible that he gets over 50 points.

I do believe that he will get PP time, as MT will rotate his top9 on the pp.

30-40 points but a very solid defensive role with the team. The potential and skill is there for much more, but for some reason the Habs brass either dont see or refuse to let it blossom.

If you average last two seasons you get:
16G - 22A - 48 points.

If he keeps same pace as last season gives:
53.47 points

Toward the end of the season, he started to have a little PP.
With a full training camp and a few pre-season games, he is going to get some PP TOI.
So 60 points is perfectly possible.

He had a slow start:
  • If you remove first 4 games, he had .71 ppg;
  • If you remove first 9 games, he had .73 ppg;
  • If you remove first 12 games, he had .74 ppg;
  • If you look in April (last 14 game), he was at .93 ppg.

It is easier to see how expecting .7 ppg makes sense when you look at the game by game collected by this site.
After the first game (Moen - Eller - Bourque), he was a healthy scratch for two games.
When he came back:
  • He played on the wings with Desharnais and Cole for four games. On game 7 (game 5 for Eller) he scored three points with them (starting the .71 ppg streak);
  • The next game, he was back to center (Moen - Eller - Armstrong) for six games;
  • On Feb 18th (15th game), the Galchenyuk - Eller - xxx was tried (starting the .74 ppg streak);
  • From that date, the duo was kept together except for three games (Prust - Eller - Gionta);
  • From March 7th till March 30th, the duo was tried with Dumont, Armstrong and Prust ending up seeing Galchenyuk getting 2 points in 12 games;
  • First two games of April saw a duo Eller - Gionta with Ryder and Prust on the leftm then the rest of the month the dynamic duo stayed together.

Seems to me that .61 ppg (50 points) is almost certain, .7 ppg is probable and .8 ppg is possible especially if they get PP especially if they keep Galchenyuk - Eller together.

If you look in detail to the teamates that were given to him, it shows the contrary, after a few games, Eller was put in center and after 12 games he was paired with Galchenyuk.
Toward the end of the season (last twelves games), this duo was almost always paired with a top-6 and got some PP time.
They were often top-2 on TOI.

Just follow the link I gave in my previous post and you will see that there is no argument to support your conspiration theory.

You really think that the coaching staff is trying to loose?

He'll single-handedly destroy Winnipeg. Something there turns him on. 5 of points will come from one game against the Jets.

I promise 100% I'm coming here honestly. I just wanted to know is Eller fully okay or was his injuries something that might impact his play this year?

also,i know it doesn't matter at all, but just so you know my opinion, i thought gryba should have got a longer suspension.

You realize he scored 30pts in 46 games last season right?

Ellers potential to be great lies in his size and his ability to start using that size. He needs to go to the dirty areas a little more and lay some people out, he can be a 20-25 goal scorer but only if he chooses to be. He is just too vanilla right now but hopefully he gets meaner and alot more greedy.

Nice to see someone be actually honest about it.

He's O.K. physically, now we just need to see if he changes on the ice... I hope not, he was an absolute monster out there at the end of the season

He says he's full fine physically to return. Mentally, who knows.

I say Eller will get 35-40 points. Though, I'm not sure who he'll get to play with.

Have we been been watching the same player? If I give you an opinion of what I think Eller needs to do to achieve greater success please dont give me a wise ass comment back. There are no easy points in the NHL and anyone that currently plays in this league in a third or fourth line role can easily go to the KHL or any other lesser league and get first line NHL numbers. Eller is a good hockey player, defensively he is one of our best to watch but offensively, if he wants to produce 50-60 points like some have suggested, he will have to add a few elements to his game. If I were Eller, I would punch Diaz in the face on the first day in training camp and try and lay out Gryba the first chance I got. The great dane needs to add some nasty to his game in order to get to the next level.

Eller's inability to score as productively as other centers is due to the fact he is not very bright offensively and somewhat indecisive, which is probably due to him never having a fertile ground to practice "offense".

Physicality and speed are actually a couple of his strengths, and puck possession is given with him. I just suspects many people simply aren't used to big players being fast and strong.
